Trump is sending a carrier to the South China Sea.

This area is HUGE for conflict over who rules the sea.

Trump has already stated that he will contest China's rule there.

Is this the making of Trump's manufactured crisis?

 

Trump inherited a foreign policy nightmare and all the stuff Obama ignored and let fester are going to have to be dealt with, the sooner the better.

Trump isn't sending anything anywhere he's listening to his military advisers and signing off on it. You people think Obama came into office his first day and was some kind of instant military genius?

Creating crisis? The Chinese began the construction, and militarization of these artificial islands they're using to justify territorial claims of international shipping lanes under Obamas watchful eye. The real story is that finally the US has a "functional" carrier group to deploy. Back in December the US for the first time since WWII had NO carriers deployed anywhere on the globe.

 

It appears that Obama's failed "Leading From Behind Doctrine" has caused the global unrest and resulting belligerency from China and Russia, while Obama's premature retreat from Iraq rekindled a fire in Middle East.

 

The only things manufactured about this are the islands that China is using to justify their new territorial claims; twisting the letter of the law to mean something it doesn't.

Sending a carrier fleet there may elevate the temperature a bit but it is something that has to be done.
