"PROTECTING THE NATION FROM FOREIGN TERRORIST ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES"
    AKA "Muslim Travel Ban"

While the travel restrictions have been halted by a federal appeals court temporary restraining order there are other provisions of this executive order have not been blocked.

The President, lacking any knowledge or experience of our visa issuing process that has been under constant review and revision since 9/11/2001 effectively preventing any international terrorist attacks within the United States since the 9/11 attacks, included the following provisions in Section 3 of the Executive Order:

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/28/politics/text-of-trump-executive-order-nation-ban-refugees/

As noted our visa issuing procedures have been under constant review and revision since 9/11 and those revisions have ensured that no international terrorist attack has been committed on US soil. The report due in just a few days by the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Director of National Intelligence is going to confirm that fact because any changes that were identified as being necessary have already been addressed in the past.

Additionally the same report will include the security protocols on political refugees from Syria that face the most extensive vetting process of anyone that's admitted into the United States. No person subjected to the extensive vetting for political refugee status, that typically takes about two years, has ever committed a terrorist attack inside the United States for at least the last 40 years!!

Additionally the report should also contain the counter-terrorism intelligence assessment that "country of origin" and "Muslim religious beliefs" in general do not represent a creditable risk factor related to acts of terrorism. The "Muslim ban" based upon seven countries of origin cannot be supported based upon US counter-terrorism intelligence which is why the DOJ was never able to produce any evidence (a finding) in the federal courts that a national security threat existed.

The Department of Homeland Security could also include the conclusions of law enforcement in the United States that Islamic terrorism in the United States is NOT the most significant threat of terrorism. Right-wing extremist acts of terrorism are responsible for more acts of terrorism and for more deaths from terrorism than Islamic terrorism in the United States.

All of this would provide the President with the information to address his concerns based upon a lack of knowledge as expressed in the executive order. There's only one problem that's become evident. The President doesn't pay attention to intelligence reports created by the US government, doesn't typically attend security briefings, and gets his information from the news media (he condemns as being fake news sources).

On February 28th (or sooner) based upon the original executive order the rationalizations for the "Muslim Travel" will become non-existent because our visa issuing process is the best it can possibly be today based upon the constant review and revision that's been going on for the last 15 years. Any improvements that could be implemented have been implemented and any future improvements identified will, hopefully, be implemented as they have been by the past two administrations.

Both Democrats and Republicans, in addition to wanting the best possible screening for visa purposes, also want strong border security and there are only differences and concerns about how that's accomplished between the two parties. Of course the illegal immigrant in the United States doesn't represent a significant terrorist threat according to a recent CATO Institute study.
