After weeks of inaction by congress, Senate Republicans have decided to use their time in investing in a quilt knitting class. Since they are not voting on anything, they have decided it's best to spend their time doing something. Senator Mitch McConell told Fox News, "We have decided that people need to know what we are doing in congress, so we are going to show them what we are doing and how we are doing it." Republicans have been knitting for quite some time according to McConell, and they think they've improved their skills enough to where they can teach others how to do it. "We've been sitting around twiddling our thumbs and knitting for two years now," McConell says, "we finally want to give back to the electorate that voted us in."

Senate Democrats are befuddled by this announcement. "I don't understand why this new class is being created," Senator Chuck Schumer told MSMNBC. "Democrats hosted courses in vanishing and whining over the past few months, but our classes are nowhere near as useless as this one."

Regardless, Republicans are anticipating massive turnouts to their class, and hope that with giving the public a look into what they are doing in congress will help people see they really are working hard, but the public just couldn't see it until now.

Don't look for Democrats in congress or the courts to support anything Trump proposes. He could come out for aid to widows and orphans and they'd organize a sit-in protest over it.

Someone is going to need to know how to churn out those flags with 47 stars when the left coast exits the union. It will save us money by making the white cloth stretch further.

Good catch about Republicans stiffing first responders. Did you run it by Snopes first?

It is a stupid PR stunt that looks impotent and ridiculous.

The Constitution says it only takes a simple majority to confirm appointees. It also only takes a simple majority to pass any legislation. A filibuster is only a delay, nothing more.

So, in a sense, the stunt is a lie. The Republican controlled Congress can confirm any appointee and pass any legislation they want to. Thus, who is STALLING are the Republicans in Congress, who could just thumb their noses as the Democrats. This is the Republican establishment types playing the same lying games the Democrat establishment types play.

Democrats in Congress aren't blocking ANYTHING because they don't have the votes to do it. It is Republicans in Congress making up a false excuse to do nothing. It is THAT simple.
