Marine Le Pen refuses to wear headscarf for Islamic Cleric

Recently Marine Le Pen refused to wear a headscarf for a meeting with Sunni Islam's Grand Mufti in Lebanon. I agree with Ms Le Pen that the headscarf is a sign of women's oppression. The Muslim community need to start showing tolerance of other people's beliefs and faith.

Such stupid stuff.. La Pen is obviously trying to make a thing of this.

The reason that Michelle Obama didn't wear a headscarf in Arabia is because its NEVER been a requirement for Western women.

 

I keep my wife in a burka. And I don't allow her to leave the house without me.

I have been to Lebanon many, many times. I can't recall ever seeing a woman in hijab.

 

You have very little idea of the history of Lebanon and the issues grappling the nation.

 

I used to go to Lebanon for 2 weeks every year. .. and many of my classmates went to ACS and/or AUB.

 

The only thing stupid is allowing an unreformed barbaric 7th century ideology into an advanced 21st century nation. Allowing fundamental Islam into Lebanon has been the reason for the conflict and civil war in their country.

If you google lebanon women, than you find a heck of a lot of group foto's where they do not wear any kind of religious clothing.

Top of my head. She knew that she had to wear a headscarf if she wanted to talk to him. So instead of declining the meeting, she came up in his face and yelled her far right propaganda to get some extra votes in France to than walk away.

 

I don't need to google anything about Lebanon. I grew up with many Lebanese friends and have a strong understanding and grasp of the situation over there.

No woman should be forced to wear anything they don't wish to. If you support this sort of oppressive behaviour, you should go live in a Muslim country that implements the Sharia.

Exactly. The vast majority being Muslim refugees. Lebanon used to be Christian nation, it is now a majority Muslim nation which has spawned the civil wars. Germany needs to take a good look at Lebanon because that is their future if they don't correct this disaster.

Actually, Le Pen never got in the cleric's face and yelled anything because she did decline the meeting.

Actually is was slightly over half Christian..Its a wonderful country with great people.

Israel caused the civil war.. They planned to overthrow the government and install a mid level Christian military officer who would be Israel-friendly. Israel always wanted a piece of Lebanon up to the Litani River.

 

Egypt is different.. largely illiterate and impoverished.

 

I have already told you that I grew up with many Lebanese friends. I have had hundreds of discussions over hundreds of hours on the issues in Lebanon. The reason Lebanon had a civil war was due to the Muslim refugees that flooded into the country.
