The French national elections begin with the 1st round on April 23. If no one wins outright in 1st round(most likely result), there will be a runoff election on May 7. Marine Le Pen, the far right candidate will do well in 1st round, but unlikely to win in the runoff. The right center or left center candidate(whoever she faces in runoff) are very heavy favorites. The main wildcard in the election will be if there are any Islamic terrorist attacks close to the elections. That would be a huge boost for Le Pen. The UK Brexit results make some of the polling suspect for French elections. It should be interesting to see if anti-muslim sentiment in the EU continues to grow and affects the election.
