When asked about Trump's muslim ban, Bush stressed that the current war was not one built on religion, but on ideology. When pressed, Bush said, "I am for an immigration policy that's welcoming and upholds the law.”

I can not begin to explain the level of cognitive dissonance that I feel when I am forced to reconsider the Presidency of George W. Bush in light of the incompetence and the lack of intellect exhibited by the current President.

Bush said. “We need an independent media to hold people like me to account."

How is the press independent when it's members (Donna Shalala) feeds questions to their preferred candidate?

The one espoused by candidate Trump, "legalized" through close consultation with Giuliani, poorly worded and poorly executed on Jan. 27th, and then properly slapped down by multiple members of the judiciary.

I suppose it's more acceptable to cause a war which killed over 100,000 Iraqis, than to just stop Iraqis from coming here, and possibly causing terrorism.

You mean the press member who fed a question about the Flint water crisis to a candidate immediately before a debate in Flint Michigan? You mean the press member that was then fired almost immediately thereafter by her CNN? You mean the press member that was completely unaffiliated with any other media organization?

I was clearly making a facetious argument, obviously I support Trump's plan to stop the terrorists from coming here, rather than going overseas to cause a war.

You were also clearly implying that I supported or at least preferred the Iraq war. I did not.

First of all, Trump did not claim that the media is the “enemy of the people.” He stated the "fake media" is an enemy of the people.

An immigration policy that is both 1) welcoming, and 2) upholds the law, means what exactly related to the current situation?

No one thus far has been killed by Trump, while thousands of Americans, and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed by the actions of W Bush.

Just goes to prove many Americans aren't very good at constructing rational, or moral arguments.

Especially considering the 9/11 terrorists, and Boston bombers and other Islamic terrorists were living in the United States.

    - - - Updated - - -

No, more along the lines of implying the W Bush was an immoral, and irrational jerk.

I made no such mention of yourself specifically.

I know. DJT gets in office, and suddenly, W is a Statesman! (lol)
Sad but true. But I gotta say it, he's right about the press.

I read the whole article earlier this morning. Bush is a better man and much brighter than Trump.

Trump did call the media the enemy of the people. He made that explicitly clear when he cited CNN, the NY Times, CBS, ABC and CBS as examples of "fake news."

Bush was "a liar and a moron" according to the left when he was President, and now the left is siding with Bush on Islamic immigrants. Hmmm... Is he being a moron or a liar in this instance?

Bill Owens would argue that point. But perhaps Trump can claim that he didn't have anything to do with it because he was not able to monitor the raid due to the fact that he was too busy tweeting.

Bush and Obama are equally responsible for the Middle East disaster that Trump has to fix and for the Washington swamp that Trump has to drain.

ISIS, the Syrian civil war, chaos, the refugee crisis, hundreds of thousands of dead are the result of Bush and Obama policies. They of all people should talk.

PS fun to watch how the libs lap up the garbage spewed by previous failures and ask for more though. You can't make it up.

Best president by who? Any ranking that does not list obama as the worst president ever is not worth 2 cents.

No, it was Bush's decision to start an unprovoked and mismanaged war in the wrong country that led us to where we are today.

You can blame Obama if you want to, but the only way you can do that is to say that you supported a long term US military occupation and the half trillion a year costs associated with managing it.

Trump won't clean up anything. He can't find the Middle East on a map.
