Default Social Security

Does anybody really care? The old people are covered and the young people aren't thinking about it right now, yet the media keeps it on the front page like its big news. This should all be worked out behind the scene and brought to the forefront when they have a finished product. Iraq and Gay marriage are the hot issues. Social Security is just a distraction and another issue to distort when there is nothing else to talk about.

Default Rove made it the big issue NOT the media

he knows he can't win over moderate Republicans and women on your wacky issues.

Default Dems Response

On the issue of SS....in his SOTU speech, Pres. Bush said he would consider all ideas....to put everything out on the table. And what was the Democrats response? "No way. YOUR ideas, Mr. President, will NOT even be on the table because they are non-starters." Democrats are not much into bi-partisanship or even trying to work together to solve problems. They are simply into obstructionism. And now.....they are denying there is even a SS problem to start with.

Default Okay, something really exciting on this topic...

Bush is speaking about Social Security in Tampa tomorrow, and the odds are really good that my dad will be sitting next to him.

How cool is that???

I had to tell someone, I'm completely excited.

Default not even an issue

till Rove made it one

"they are denying there is even a SS problem to start with. "

very humorous to see the local Young Republicans on our local TV last night trying to talk about SS - it's amazing how much politicians can guide what thoughts will be. People didn't just wake up and say, "hey SS is gonna go bankrupt."

We've all known SS has been heading for bankruptcy for a long time.

Clinton knew it and said he needed to do something. Nothing was done except toy with the notion of some more taxes to fix it.
