Hmm Im reading your comments with interest. Please tell me why you would boast so much about a nation of some 370 million people taking so many medals?
Surely you would admit that GB, being fourth in the medal table, given its size is the true olympian nation and not America and not China or anyone else?
Come on time to be honest with us. We are superior.

Is that how a loser thinks? Fascinating. I wouldn't know, I'm from America, the country leading the Olympics.

I don't think we're better than Canada because they haven't won a gold and we have. I think we're better than Canada because we're just better than Canada.
In all seriousness, this conversation is ridiculous. First of all, the United States better (*)(*)(*)(*)ing lead the medal count given the dominance of our sports culture and that we pour a (*)(*)(*)(*)load of money into training all of our athletes. That's not something to brag about. Us winning more medals than most other countries is to be expected. Secondly, is your confidence really fueled by people that are far more athletically gifted than you competing in the Olympics? I don't know about the rest of you, but my national pride is not vicarious.

China was winning last time I saw the news. I can't say last time I checked, because I don't care enough about winning pissing competitions to check. You carry on though...
Over your head... you mentioned that you are only allowed one team. Is that per comp, or just per basketball. Which you only win because your weather and over nutrition force feeds your people into growing a foot taller than most countries.Almost as strange as the United States winning both gold and silver in the 200m individual medley. Or half a dozen other events the United States will double medal in.
I can't even remember what this was about and I'm not going back to reread. The history of America double medal winning in Olympic events would suggest otherwise.
..and you weren't saying any of that when the games were hosted in US. I know this. Everyone reading your posts knows it.Correct, to an extent. You are permitted to enter only "X" number of teams or athletes in any given event that a country qualifies for, and for some odd reason the host country gets more athletes. As you may have noticed, the UK has more athletes in these Olympic games than the United States. The United States, in many sports, could run the table. gold silver bronze. The same could be said of other countries in certain sports. But the current system doesn't allow for this "per capita" argument, it's absurd.
No I did not. You have again misunderstood a simple post.Maybe it's his line of thinking, but you certainly agreed with it when you said
You have taken the gold and neither Raymo nor I could ever compete to your Olympic standard in this event. He, like you, would have made a fool of himself for such a ridiculous statement.
Edit] oops forgot to post your video

LOL. Youve got over 5 x times our population but not over 5x times our medals. How do you explain that?
Youre not leading your only doing what anyone might expect of you, fighting in your weight class.
We fight above our weight class, thus we are superior to you. And we are winning.
By the way, why is it you guys win so many medals? Is it some extra winningness or is it more about how many people you have?
Time to man up.

My confidence? Of course not. America is my team in these Olympic games, no different than my Buckeyes during football season. Hate when they lose and love when they win.
I seriously think you underestimate the sports programs in some of these countries. Russia and its neighbors are beasts in wrestling. Europe is huge into soccer, cycling, rowing, etc. The Chinese break there gymnasts like horses. We are not beasts in everything, and China beat us in 2008. Expecting to win is nonsense anymore with the Chinese programs of Olympic training.
I was questioning all the parties involved.
Maybe I just don't get it because I have been driven to apathy since my sports teams suck. If Air Force were to win the BCS championship, I don't think I would think we're superior to anyone. I would think they (active participants) worked pretty hard at that. I'd be happy for them, just as I'm happy for our boys and girls kicking ass in the Olympics. I just don't get a feeling of superiority over any of the other participants. Especially since I'm sitting on my ass watching some of the events.
The Russians and other countries don't seem to spend as much money, and I never saw a huge emphasis on all sports there like there is here. They dominate certain events, but we're involved in far more. As for China? I don't care. I do not give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about a country that brutally trains its athletes because it feels it needs to go to such lengths to establish itself.

The Per capita argument? I thought that was already explained to you. Only a certain number of athletes are able to compete in events from each county. The United States would sweep several sports if the Olympics permitted the best athletes in the would, not just two athletes or 1 team. The UK has more athletes in this competition than the United States, yet sport to sport, race to race, you've failed to do as well as your American superiors. Now bask in the shimmer of American gold.
And yes to the second question, it's "extra winningness"
