I know that for a long time after September 11, 2001, a lot of people would cry out in terror whenever the color code moved up a notch. Someone heard a rumor? Move it up another notch.

Let me tell you an experience I just recently had. Last night, I had a dream I was standing with my friends outside, on the field of Broughton High School (the school in which I attend). We were all watching three planes move about in circles, and watching them, I remember thinking I felt a fear of destruction coming. Well, later on, they airplanes starting coming straight down towards earth, where my friends and I stood. They stopped at about, I am guessing, 500 feet. They starting circling again, like buzzards waiting for the prey to die. One plane crashed into another, and they exploded. The last plane crashed into the remains of the others, exploding also. The smoke, fire, and debris came flying down as my friends tried to find a way to escape from it.

This was the part in which I woke up. My throat dry and my head sweaty, I recalled what I remembered and wrote it down so that I would not forget it. I don't really know why it frightened me so much, but through today I have been trying to interpret it and put it into life's context. Here's what I managed to scrape up so far:

Terrorists like living up to their name. They like terrorizing. But destruction is not the only way you can scare people. Fear, or threats of destruction and death will, too. This is what made America fold on itself. This is why we are in the War on Terrorism. To stop the fear.

Come to think of it, fear is probably worse than the event itself. Fear is more unpredictable. In my opinion, the terrorists have already won.

Well,first thing first, you have wierd dreams.

And yes,your right,fear is the the terrorists most efficent tool terrorists use...And again, i must use examples from Israeli expireince....A few years ago,Israel was under attacked.....bombing almost every day,before Israel could get a grip on how to fight this new war-fare,that it hasn't fought in these kind of measures sinnce the 80'. Now,these scens made the world think that Israelis stayed at home,in the shelters,praying. But Tel-Aviv, the city of lights,a non-stop mid-terenean city,kept on going,non-stop,even with bombings,and Israelis kept partying and that showed many in the world,that Israelis were un-afraid of Terrorism's greatest tool,fear itself. And,a recent reasearch shows,that since the Intifada started,no change accured on Israeli habits,and people were un-afraid. of course tourism was hit pretty badly,but we got over it....On 9/11,Israeli kids sent letters for Americans,some for George Bush himself...now of course most didn't get there,but the israeli kids wrote that now America can see what Israel is going threw,and also Israeli adults advised Americans to open a campaign,that instead freak the country out,tell them not to fear. If americans stop hanging out,stop enjoying life,frightened to death,then,even if America would conquer the whole world,you would lose....Israel didn't lose the war,and isn't going to,because inspit israelis fear bombings,they have shown percistent not to let terrorism control thier lives.
