Default Arab Nations Condemn Hizbollah

Arab world fed up with Hizbullah
By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

With the exception of the Palestinians, the Arab world appears to be united in blaming Iran and Syria for the fighting in Lebanon
. Until last week, Arab political analysts and government officials were reluctant to criticize Hizbullah in public. But now that Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and his top aides are in hiding, an anti-Hizbullah coalition is emerging not only in Lebanon, but in several other Arab countries as well.

The Palestinians and Hizbullah feel that their Arab brethren have once again turned their backs on them. On Monday, hundreds of Palestinians who marched in downtown Ramallah in support of Hizbullah chanted: "Hassan Nasrallah is our hero, the rest of the Arab leaders are cowards" and "O beloved Abu Hadi [Nasrallah's nickname], bomb, bomb Tel Aviv." The second battle cry is reminiscent of the famous slogan the Palestinians used during the first Gulf War: "O beloved Saddam, bomb, bomb Tel Aviv."

And how about this "free press" coming right out of Iraq???:

"Wadi Batti, an Iraqi columnist, said the Arabs should realize that militias and gangsters will only worsen their conditions. "The Lebanese example confirms the fears of Arabs about the presence of armed militias that threaten our stability and security," he wrote."

It's always a good sign to see the Arab world condemning the terrorists that give them a bad name.
Of course I still don't think Israel's current methods are exactly praiseworthy, but ultimately Hezbollah is responsible for the "starting it" part.

Default good for them

that would definitely be a step in the right direction. They should sanction them and get them to stop the attacks and Israel will stop in kind. Maybe then they can go back to negotiating.

I heard that on Rush's show today too. While it is definitely a good sign, I am reserving judgement to see if it is more than just talk.

But anything is better than nothing. This is definitely positive.

I'm waiting for AIPAC to get a heads-up too. It's amazing how fast the ideologues can change their tune once they start getting hit in the pocketbook.

Well it's about time some in the Arab/Muslim world see that the influence of Iran in this mess can upset their world. Iran is partially trusted by the Arab world only because they are Muslim but the Arabs never forget that the Persians are not Arabs so that bit of racism trumps the allegiance of Mohamadism.

I'm not sure it's their pocketbook as much as it their butts. If you remember many of these Arab leaders were on Osama's list to overthrow. Saudi Arabia for example decided to keep them at arms length by just paying them blackmail money. I'm sure they scared the hell out of those leaders.

What would get them to risk the rath of these militant groups? My guess is they think the Israels has a President that will do their bidding and right now he seems out of control and no body is willing to stop Bush. So which crazies are more threatening to those Arab leaders right now? Probably the U.S.

Of course this puts those Arab countries in quite a pickle. When the world opinion shifts and these Arabs countries are seen as becoming reasonable then Israel won't be as free to do all the things they want to do. They will have to get the world sympathy back on their side. Thats when it will really become dangerous. You can bet Mossad will do a false flag operation that they can blame on the arabs again and move the ball out of their court.

It is these same Arab governments that have been giving money and support to the PLO, Hamas, Hesbollah, Fatah, and all the rest so as not to be toppled themselves. And you expect the Lebanese government, the weakest of any Arab nation that I know of, to rein in Hesbollah.

Iran and the Arabs are mortal enemies. The only thing that unites them is hatred of America.

Not to hurt anyone, nor disrespect,I wonder how many Americans or others, will change their views at Israel, when it's partially to blame for the new rising in Oil prices. Israel is mainly fighting the Oil,and It's impacts on the west. With no Arab oil,we would have had few wars in our time.....However,Israel is not to blame for the Oil rising, because of this guy Chavez,Because of Iran, because of Russia, and also because of The middle-east war.

BTW speaking of south America,Iv'e been there a while ago,and they have a lot of resentment to Americans.I'm guessing maybe because of your "South-America=Real America's back yard" approach........
