How do you imagine "racheting up the pressure on them" would play with the Pakistani people? Do you think it would make Musharraf´s anti-Taliban purge...a purge the Pakistani people know full well is an American initiative..do you think it would make his efforts easier?

Why is everone so keen to seek their wishes through "pressure" or "punishment"? Ever consider that it might, it just might, be more productive to offer assistance rather than squeezing?

I guess you are right you can tell a colonel or major by their ensigna do people in the Taliban and Al-Quaida were a number 2 or 3 on their shirt? Just curious how do you know they are a 2, 3, 4 or 5.
