Apart from the fact that's the terrorists mentioned are not Al Qaeda.

But as has been said on other threads Al Qaeda's ideology has spread with Bush's lack of attention in Afghanistan lending kudos to the name Al Qaeda.

Now an old terrorist organisation the organisation, previously known as the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), has affiliated itself with the name of Al Qaeda.

The Algerian government is using the Name Al Qaeda to invoke hostility to do as the US and make a few crackdowns on it's citizens under the cover of the name Al Qaeda.

The motives reported are not anti Israel but anti foreign forces. The group has since claimed responsibility, under its new name, for a number of deadly bombings targeting security forces and foreigners.

It suits both parties for the name Al Qaeda to be used. But it doesn't make it true.

They pledged allegiance to Osama. They pledged further attacks in their name. That, by definition, makes them Al Qaeda.
