Default Terrorist Attack on JFK Thwarted

Breaking news this morning. Three arrests in a terrorists plot to destroy NYC's JFK airport. One suspect is still on the loose. One of the suspects got into the position to do this as he worked at JFK airport. He had no background that indicated he was a terrorist or had terrorist connections.

One again, our system is working. Great work again FBI!!!!

Default Al Qaeda "Wannabes"

It's fortunate that the various thwarted terror attacks, such as this one, and the plan to assault Fort Dix with explosive pizzas are being planned by two-digit IQ terrorists.

What's really sad is that libs like you seek to immediately downplay it's importance. And why? Because it was stopped under George W. Bush's watch.

Why not just be happy for the country? Is that too much to ask of the Bush-haters????

That's good. I guess most people with any kind of brain power aren't drawn to the terrorist lifestyle. People that dumb are bound to get caught. We'll have too see how the FBI got on their trail.

They were described as "very angry Islamic extremists." And they were actively looking for help to pull it off. Whether they could have ever pulled it off or not is irrelevant. I recall back in the mid-90's where extremists' talk of ramming commercial jets into buildings in the U.S. was thought to be implausible as well. So much for that thought.

Aren't they all? They don't strike me as very happy people.

It is had they not gotten caught! I prefer my terror plots to be "not feasible". Just in case.

They didn't say "implausible". They said "not feasible". Those aren't at all the same thing. Of course you can aim an airplane at a building. Duh.

Isn't it odd how the libs here have all downplayed and pooh-poohed the whole thing. AND YET----I know that had these guys pulled some or all of this plot off, you all would have been the FIRST to say...."That (*)(*)(*)(*)ed George W. Bush for letting this happen!"

Despite the sour grapes libs views----this is nothing less than a WIN for all these agencies. AND for the U.S. And it points to how the agencies ARE finally working together successfully as they should have been all along.

GREAT news.

Default Come on...

This just seems like way too much of a stretch for me. A single "terrorist" who's first (and apparently for some time, only) new recruit was an FBI plant who coaxed and encouraged him along for most of a year before he was able to hook in a couple other losers to what the FBI itself called an infeasible plan.

What it says to me is they're having no luck penetrating the real threats (Bin Laden, et al) so they are desperate to find any kind of show trial to demonstrate the war on terror is working and they're capable of keeping us safe.

It wasn't one guy. One of them was a former member of Guyana's parliament. One of them was a former employee of JFK. They made serious, "incredible" surveillance videos, studied plans, and were looking for help in pulling it off. And sorry---but U.S. officials are NOT downplaying this:

"This was "one of the most chilling plots imaginable," Roslynn Mauskopf, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, told a news conference. "The devastation that would be caused ... is just thinkable." The 40-mile fuel pipeline to the airport extends from New Jersey and through the New York boroughs of Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens. They had taken the plans to Trinidad while they sought help and sought exert advice. This was NOT a off the cuff idea. It was a serious idea, and they were taking serious steps to bring it to fruition.

"The plot, which was investigated from January 2006 to the present, tapped into an international network of Muslim extremists from the United States, Guyana and Trinidad."
