I fail to see why Iraq is important anyway? Who cares if it becomes an Islamic caliphate?

You know, there's 8 year old girls being gang raped by government soldiers in Darfur - it happens every day, so like, what's so important about Iraq?
I think the reason why Iraq is cared about is because of the thought WMD were being constructed there where they would be spread out to local terrorist who would use them against us and Israel. Iraq was anti US and anti Israel, building WMD and not holding true to the peace treaty of the early 90's.

It does look a but strange how we don't do anything about other crazy nations but we were already there in Iraq and so was Saddam.

For the most part I agree with you. However, it's not like the US just decided one day... "Hmmm who can we pick on today?"

They were in direct violation of UN restrictions and resistant in complying. (Actually to be specific, they were in violation of 13 years worth of UN sanctions and resolutions. Saddam thought he could continue indefinitely.)

"Other crazy nations" aren't in the same predicament. While they may be "crazy," they're not necessarily as "crazy" as Saddam was. Remember, all he had to do was comply and this would have never happened.

So you want to give someone who has orchestrated attacks against the US and the free world a position of power, influence, and let him have Iraq's weapons? That would be the equivalent of setting a convicted murderer free and letting him have a sniper rifle. Great plan.

I will say this time and time again, any success in Iraq is overshadowed by the fact that the so-called “War on Terror” is failing. The number of terrorist attacks increased since the invasion in 2003, even if we disregard the number of attacks in Afghanistan & Iraq.

Reducing whatever percentage of Al-Qaedas influence in Iraq, which obviously has to be compared to whatever (unknown) influence they had there to begin with, does not justify the 'War Crime' that the military invasion was, the death of almost 4,000 U.S Troops, the death of over 150,000 Iraqis, and the displacing of over 3,000,000 Iraqi people (whom we "Saved").

The so-called "War on Terror" has no national borders, and anybody who thinks that Iraq is the center of world terrorism has an unfortunate misconception of reality.
