They were in direct violation of UN restrictions and resistant in complying. (Actually to be specific, they were in violation of 13 years worth of UN sanctions and resolutions. Saddam thought he could continue indefinitely.) "Other crazy nations" aren't in the same predicament. While they may be "crazy," they're not necessarily as "crazy" as Saddam was. Remember, all he had to do was comply and this would have never happened.

I will say this time and time again, any success in Iraq is overshadowed by the fact that the so-called “War on Terror” is failing. The number of terrorist attacks increased since the invasion in 2003, even if we disregard the number of attacks in Afghanistan & Iraq.
Reducing whatever percentage of Al-Qaedas influence in Iraq, which obviously has to be compared to whatever (unknown) influence they had there to begin with, does not justify the 'War Crime' that the military invasion was, the death of almost 4,000 U.S Troops, the death of over 150,000 Iraqis, and the displacing of over 3,000,000 Iraqi people (whom we "Saved"). The so-called "War on Terror" has no national borders, and anybody who thinks that Iraq is the center of world terrorism has an unfortunate misconception of reality. |
