Default al qaeda in crisis, oh my more good news

Bush haters beware, our military is kicking al qaeda booty, you know, the al qaeda that you don't want the US to fight in Iraq. Oh well, dead al qaeda anywhere is good for the world, maybe the sanity of many of these terrorist parasites is returning, and they realize they will gain more trying to do things peacefully. Let's hope

Al-Qaeda in Iraq faces an “extraordinary crisis”. Last year's mass defection of ordinary Sunnis from al-Qaeda to the US military “created panic, fear and the unwillingness to fight”. The terrorist group's security structure suffered “total collapse”.

This isn't insider testimony of the Clinton campaign folks, this is al Qaeda in disarray.

You are right, and Obama will pull away and let al qaeda regain it's strength to strike us another day. Don't a democratic president just make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

You hit the nail on the head lunecat, when we pull away they will only get stronger by reorganizing and regrouping, and strengthening their weapons, which are supplied mostly by Iran and Syria.

My house used to be nice.
Then I ran a sprinkler in it. This was bad.
The sprinkler is still on, except now I have a crew of men who constantly pump out the water. And things are looking up!

Liberals points:

1) Al Qaeda didn't exist in Iraq prior to our invasion. So celebrating a "fix" for a problem that WE created isn't big news.
So your timeline is
2001 Zero Al Qaeda in Iraq
2004 Thousands of Al Qaeda in Iraq, thanks to us creating a power vacuum and firing the entire Army and police force.
2008 Al Qaeda in Iraq is hurting, but still exits...

2) How is Al Qaeda doing in Pakistan and Afghanistan these days?

3) The problem with invading Iraq was NEVER Al Qaeda, it was the power vacuum between Sunnis and Shia. This problem is still in full effect and nobody would be surprised for Iraq to turn into a fundamentalist Islamic country. Thanks Bush!

I don't see why you are gloating that you haven't yet fixed a problem you created.

The above is simpleminded. Al qaeda would be where ever americans were, even if it was only in their own country.

9/11, USS cole, Nairobi US Embassy bombing etc etc - they are all attacks by AlQueda, they started the fight - Iraq has sapped alot of puss from the terrorist sore that has been around since certainy Pres. Clinton's time!

I hope for the US and the World's sake your view doesn't prevail - because AlQueda may get you next time - if you give up and run away now

Liberals incorrect points (incorrect insertion mine):

1) Al Qaeda didn't exist in Iraq prior to our invasion. So celebrating a "fix" for a problem that WE created isn't big news.
They didn't. Yet we brought them in for a fight. Worked out quite well. It's not like these were wonderful law abiding citizens who said "you know what, I'm gonna go strap on a bomb and kill some kids and some of my own people." Most of these were already terrorists and many came from outside Iraq for the fight. Good! Instead of having to scour the world looking for them they came to us. Can't think of anything better.

Am I the only one who questions an analogy that describes Saddam Hussein's Iraq as, "My house used to be nice"?
