All in all, USA's F-22 don't stand a chance in a dogfight with SU-37 or MIG-35. Everything else is crap and overboasting.

But the point is this: since it's proven that the stealth technology sucks (stealth plane was shot down by an outdated Soviet SAM), imagine what would happen to all those expansive F-22s if they tried to invade, say, Russian airspace...
When they meet the colossus beneath, there will be a bloody massacre...

Why would Russia do that if they were really convinced that BVR had no potential? Is it normal for Russians to waste money?


Why would I be nervous? So far all I have seen are prototypes that barely catch up to what we already have in production now.

Add to that Russia's extreme reluctance to do anything more than talk and I really don't see what I have to be nervous about from Russia.


And naturally I should just take your word for it on an anonymous forum. Uh huh.

I have not seen any indication so far that you are well educated.



Like I said, they were very brave to shoot down an unarmed plane. I am sure the Soviet air force was an extreme threat to any unarmed plane that confronted them...not just that one.

Of course, that was also decades ago. And that was when Russia was the Soviet Union. So I suppose it is possible that their resolve is insufficient to even confront unarmed planes now. But I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that they would display the same bravery shooting down unarmed planes now, as they did back then.


It does in this context.


The Sovets backed down during the Cuban Missile Crisis. We actually confronted them, and they blinked. We don't have anything to prove.

The aerobatics are useful in a dogfight. Against a long range missile? Not so much.

And how do we know this? Because the Russians are still perusing BVR technology. Do you think you know more than the Russian military?



I guess we'll never know since Russia lacks the balls to use it.

Because Russians do not consider BVR as the only tool that could make a warplane superior.
So look closer At least, I can speak your language. You can not speak Russian.
Once again : Soviet/Russian air defence troops shot down a spy plane. It does not matter, whether it was armed or unarmed.
Where and when you confronted Soviets during Cuban Missile Crisis? You mean another Locheed U2 shot down by Soviet-made SAM in Cuban airspace?
You wanna say that F-22 is invulnerable against any SAM or AA missile?

They did not. They created the country of Kosovo, but the flags that people wave are Albanian. So basically, they created another Albanian state. And another Muslim state.

I havnt seen any evidence to the contrary.

Stealth doesn't make the F-22 invulnerable. But it does greatly reduce the range of enemy Radar and Infrared targeting systems. I have seen no evidence to indicate that Russian SAM hardware has sufficient range to overcome the stealth advantage of the F-22 or other stealth aircraft.

There are circumstances where the stealth advantage can be negated almost entirely...but the pilots are well aware of that, and any pilot trained to fly those planes will know how to avoid those circumstances. Stealth does not make a fighter invulnerable, but it does give that fighter an overwhelming advantage against non-stealth aircraft and against weapons which rely on radar or infrared targeting.



The flags they wave are irrelevant. We don't care what they wave.
