Put them on trial.
Perhaps you didn't read my link, THERE IS NO LAW REQUIRING THEM TO HAVE A TRIAL.

There, is that clear enough? You must be a legal scholar, please explain how that would not make a mockery our court system, and could likely destroy it.

Anyone who is an adamant terrorist committed to the destruction of the Western world through the use of violence and radical jihad needs to be held indefinably and does not deserve a trial in court of any kind. But instead of using taxpayers money to hold them there, they should be forced to work for the government making cheap manufactured goods so that they can pay for their own containment. The government should also make a profit out of all those oppressed terroristic workers, to give the taxpayers a break.

Ahh ..democracy in action. Just the example we want to set for those countries we're liberating from tyranny.

How is democracy supposed to work if we don't do anything to stop people who have dedicated their lives to the destruction of democracy? A democracy believes in freedom for people who respect the freedom of others. People like criminals, who violate another person's rights have no rights themselves.

We aren't a democracy, but I guess public education is to blame for that misstep.

Furthermore, if these people are so dangerous, why are we even keeping them alive? Beat all the information out of them and kill them, they certainly would treat us no better. GG

We're a federalist republic, which is the closest thing to a democracy that can work in a country the size of the US, and what we have referred to as "democracy" since the US Constitution was adopted back in 1787.

Criminals do have rights; read the Constitution.

As to the Gitmo dudes; will it be a federal court or a military tribunal? We'll just have to wait and see what the Supreme Court says. Either way, they need to be charged and tried. None of this life imprisonment without a trial. That goes against everything this great nation stands for.

I really meant that they had some of their rights taken away, not that we get to kill someone for a traffic violation or something like that.

And those terrorists don't go against everything our great nation stands for?

What's your point? Other terrorists have turned down getting attorneys, their choice. Can you point to where the US has been forced by our courts to try them?
