Default The War on Terror and Republican Pandering

Hey everyone, this is my first post, but I've been lurking for a bit. I found this article and thought that the more conservative members here should read it.

I say this because I consider myself a Christian and a republican, but I am not at all in favor of what our current president has done both overseas and in Iraq. The lady who wrote this article is a faith based writer who I have followed named lisa holloway.

Anyhow, here's the article. I don't understand how anyone could disagree with her.

Oh yeah, I looked up the RNC platform today and noticed two things:
1) They say we are more safe because of the way (then we can relax the torture and spying right? nope)

2) They use the word peace 63 times. (Bush uses it 5 times in one quote in the middle).

You can read it at the RNC website, but believe me, unless your brain has melted it will only make you angry.

And they really REALLY deify Reagan - which is scary that they diefy anyone.

To tell the truth I do not agree the terrorists have won because if they won then we would all be dead (which is their goal). I do agree however a new paranoia is sweeping the nation that rivals the communist threat during the cold war. Freedoms are be taken away at an alarming rate but thats why the framers instated article III of the constitution to protect us. Come to think of it these new laws have not even effected me at all and I bet if you think about it they have not effected you either or that author.

I do think, however, that a new paranoia that rivals the communist threat in the cold war is sweeping the nation. I also think there is a huge breech of freedoms in congress, but thats why the framers created article III and the first ten amendments in the constitution. Now that I think about it I or anyone else I know have not been really effected by these new laws. Its probably the same with you and the author of that article. Besides a little extra security at the airports I have seen no difference in my daily life. Who cares if they know Im going somewhere I got nothing to hide as long as we do not know they know no one gets their feelings hurt.

Why do you think you know everything that caused Bush to go to war?
Clinton told Bush that Iraq had WMD. Blame Clinton for the WMD> I think they had them they either moved them or we just have not found them yet.

I know they were attempting to build WMD's in Iraq because I spent a significant amount of time at "Chemical Ali's" house looking at the evidence (He had a pretty nice spread btw) and digging up a bunch of buried crap all over the dam country.
