From the start dating around 9/11 I have been very much flabbergasted by America's so called war against terrorism. I ask the question: isn't terrorism just a way for Bush distract people from his internal politics because, I think those have been horribly bad. Should America’s war against terrorism be taken seriously because to me it seems like Bush has wasted resources and harassed the “middle east” for far too long for all the wrong reasons.

Is it America’s war against terrorism or just Bush’s war against (more of) the embarrassing truth about his presidency?

For his side, anything that can make people afraid is a god-send. The way I see it its been a vechile for getting alot of other things done- primarily making his class even richer.

It's all propaganda. As long as the masses are afraid, those in power can do whatever they want.

Since the US was attacked in two places on its own soil by Al Qaeda, I have to say that the war on terror - meaning Al Qaeda and related organizations - is more than a manufactured smoke screen for GWB to slip a lot of real bad policies by the US citizens. The US had to go to Afghanistan and route the Taliban because that group controlled the Afghan government and had offered both support and safety to Al Qaeda.

However, even a necessary war can be used as a smoke screen - and GWB has certainly done that - and he added a second war to make that smoke screen more effective.

The invasion of Iraqi has nothing at all to do with the war on terror. I personally believe it was started because Iraq is sitting atop the third largest proven oil reserve in the world and Saddam had made a monkey out of GWB's father some years ago.

Their is a point to "the war on terror". However Iraq had nothing to do with it.

In short there is a point to it, and hopefully the next president Obama or McCain, will still pursue it. However Bush has used it as an excuse to get away with a lot.

The sad fact is that the United States has historically sponsored groups that engage in acts of terrorism. The CIA is notorious for supporting rebel groups around the world in attempts to overthrow governments and those groups often use terrorism as a tactic.

We also have a history of supporting tyrannical regimes that terrorize and oppress their own people based upon the foreign policy of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

And finally, the US wages war on other countries and there is no greater form of terrorism than war.

Before we address terrorism around the world we need to be the first to stop supporting and commiting acts of terrorism.

So, for those of you who insist Bush went to war for Oil, I have a few questions...

Why do we still get the majority of our oil from Mexico and Canada?

If all we wanted was the oil, why didn't we just blow the country up, take it, and leave?

Why isn't this oil being refined and put into my car?

Its one thing to dislike Bush, in fact, I'm with you on that. Its another thing to continue to believe blatant lies and absurdities. DO SOME RESEARCH PEOPLE.
