Almost every single Country now has a National ID system implemented, these cards are used like drivers licenses only they are capable of tracking your location and holding personal information about YOU.
This ID will track your location, also giving the government control on what you can/can't do since it's government issued and required(read the fine print), the "patriot act #2" gives you LESS freedom than the first one the Bush administration passed, this country is under terrorist attack politically only "they" aren't attacking your government, they're attacking you. I don't like the idea of a national ID card, but I certainly don't think it's "the mark of the beast." That is good stuff, though-- mark of the beast. It would make for an interesting movie, I think.

Anyway, I suppose if they help track terrorist suspects, I can be for them, but I don't like that they can be used to track a citizen's location. I'm sure such powers won't be abused now, what with all these real terror suspects running around, but what becomes of these cards once the terror threat eventually subsides, and the government decides it wants to keep the ID cards. The government might get bored having no one to track and might start tracking everybody just for fun.

Privacy has always been an issue when it comes to national ID systems. These systems may indeed help to protect the citizens but it may also intrude on their privacy. A lot of people are concerned over how these systems will affect their lives. After all, no one is comfortable with having someone watching over them constantly.
