Default Pro-Life Democrat Movement

Nancy Pelosi, as the next speaker of the house, will work to make compromise on the issue of abortion. Many see a middle road in the democratic party. Hillary Clinton, the democratic senator from New York, made it clear that abortions are a negative aspect of society and that they need to be ended.

Bob Casey ran for govenor as a Pro-Life Democrat. He won by more than 17% of the vote. If the Democrats ran someone like Casey in '08 they would be set. The Dems are also very into the idea of helping the poor of the nation. Those pregnant women who are poor are highly likely to have abortions. Now, with Democratic control, things may change.

Default I Partly Agree

I'm a libertarian (small l) and I'm also pro-life. I think that the Democratic Party is the lesser of the evils right now (I loathe neoconservatism), and if the Democratic Party backed off from its far-left stance on abortion, I would consider it a borderline acceptable party. However, I think that most government aid programs, which Republicans push for almost as much as Democrats, are counterproductive and hurt the economy, thus increasing poverty.
