Yay... More war...

I'm actually wondering though, where do you think it ends, Blade?
What has to be achieved for this specific war to end in your opinion?
When do we bring the troop back home?

Well I'm obviously not Blade but ...

We have now turned control of 9 of the 18 provinces over to complete Iraqi control. We've got 9 to go.

We have already started and depending on conditions in Iraq will continue to do so.

What are the conditions, beyond the one you have pointed out?

Is that all there is to it, now, after over four and a half years?

Do you think it's sustainable once we leave?

What happens with the (over) three million Iraqi refugees?

What do you do about the 'Newly Radicalized'?

What happens if/when the new (American supported) government falls?
(which has happened say... in Iran)

What happens when Bush is out of the 'Oval Office'?

Conditions, Conditions...
We'll just have to wait and watch I'm afraid.
Peace.

Well I think there are really just two conditions. Our generals and intelligence people believe a province is prepared for complete Iraqi control or we are asked by their government to leave.

That is the point of not leaving immediately - to make it as sustainable as possible.

Reports are that they have been pouring back into the country. I imagine many have assimilated into different countries. It is really up to the refugees as to what they choose and not us.

It seems like they are mostly sheep following their imams. It looks like at this time the imams have chosen to turn their wrath against the al Qaeda which is a beautiful thing. When the imam says a comic is bad they go on a killing rampage. The radical irrational are not easily dealt with.

Well hopefully it will have enough stability before we leave. It depends on whether it degrades to a bastion of terror or satellite of Iran. That is why success in Iraq is so critical.

I don't see any of the serious candidates making any radical changes in our policy. Candidates that clearly would make radical policy changes would be Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul. I think the rest understand the importance of a stable Iraq even when they give lip service to the moveon crowd.

I wonder if there were people like the current appeasers in WWII?

"Ooooo, how many square miles of the pacific do the japanese control? Sounds like we're losing."

"Bataan death march - wow - look what FDR's got us into now."

"This war is costing trillions of dollars - why not give up?"

"Who says the chinese, phillipinos, and the others want democracy?"

"It's all america's fault - lemmee explain why the japanese hate us."

"Boy - the war industries are really cleaning up - and some of their CEO's are FDR's pals - that's what this war is about, understand?"

"Did you hear that FDR is wiretapping all communications into or out of the US? The guy is throwing away the constitution."

"We have hundreds of thousands of POWs in this country - anybody read them their rights?"

Default a war fought on credit

Another 70 billion, another $700 per taxpayer added to our collective MasterCard, and you're happy?

Where do you think this money is to come from?

It's high time we had a surtax to pay for the war as we went along. That way, we'd really be supporting the troops with more than just rhetoric, and we'd know just how much it's costing.

This has to be the first war in history fought on credit.
