Most on the Left do not believe this. And there are some conservatives who believe this.

Your statement contains a logical fallacy (generalization of traits of one to a whole group) and "false premise" - you have presented no evidence that it is the Left that made up the story. .

I don't remember 'left wingers' making up that claim- I do remember that Conspiracy theory nuts did.
