HAHA!! I laugh at that! A bigger Government, with more control... Isn't that heading a bit towards Facism, or a Dictatorship? Are you sure this is what you want? Because, if I am wrong, and which I hope not, The founders of America, set it up that the Government would have less control then it really does now. I don't want the Government telling us how to raise our kids!

we have a big government now.
and i would consider us neither facist, nor dictatorial.
no doubt the founders wanted strong individual states.
but just the fact that they signed the constitution meant they also knew each of them was better off being a part of the whole.
and, a lot has changed in 200+ years.
who knows what they would think today.

i really have no idea what that means.
if safety standards,
education standards,
and child welfare enforcement are 'telling us how to raise our kids!',
then yes,
i want the government doing that.

HAHA!!! A bigger government, them telling you how to raise your children, thats a total Democracy, I mean... What in the world was I thinking. You know, I am sorry I was wrong... My bad!

NOT! If you really think that, then I hope you like a good old Dictatorship... I mean, thats why a Democracy is so popular, and long lasting uh.

Now The United States is headed in that direction now, and its all because of people wanting a bigger government (well the Liberals anyway). A bigger government means more power to them, this Nation was set up on the government having such few powers, like taxing. If we give the government more power, how are you going to say its a Democracy?

if we look at the government itself as the 'dictator',
then sure a powerful government can be bad.
but i've always viewed individuals as dictators.
the individuals who run our government are still chosen by the people.
so it wouldn't matter how big the government became,
the people would still have control over it.
it would still be a democracy

and i don't want the government bigger,
i just don't think we should gut it in favor of total states rights

If our government is bigger, and has alot more control over things, they can end up choosing who is our "President". They can start making laws saying, they can do this, and that. A bigger and more powerful government is just plain dumb on Americas part

I think we go back to States Rights and allow states to set their laws.

Federal Gov should concentrate on defense and infrastructure.
By defense I mean borders and against foreign threats.
By infrastructure I mean Railways, Highways, Airports, Seaports and communication.

All else should be left up to business and states.

Agree completely, and I think this inline with the original meaning of the constitution.

It is inline with the meaning of the constitution. We had the American Revolution to not be like England. They set it up to where we had a Democracy, and so it shall stay until the government gets too much power.
