How were they an inferior culture, they were people. Thier political power at teh time was the same as anybody else.
I am not saying Hitler will rise in America but we need to watch ourselves and make sure our president (cough, Bush) keeps his powers to what he gave him.

I agree actually. And we have done that. The powers Bush has assumed were granted to him by Congress. And Congress could yank them back any time they felt like it.

Bush has not been overruled by the judicial branch. And the reason for that is precedent. Bush will not get away with anything that pisses off the majority of Americans. And though I know liberals don't like to hear it, the fact of the matter is that the Patriot Act and the war do not pіss off most Americans. They are giving their implicit approval (or at least tolerance) by their inaction.

Ya, the patriot act and the military commision act really dont make people mad. I love knowing that Bush could at any time take me to guantanamo and hold me indefinitly, with no charges or right to council. No way to talk to my family or have any contact with the outside world. Torture me daily and treat me like an object. Makes me feel so warm inside.

Has he done it yet? Even to anyone you know?

The patriot act had to pass Congress. It would not have done that if most people were against it.

Theres the door. If it bothers you that much, you could always leave. Democracy means you have a voice, not that you always get your way. The majority doesnt agree with you.

The majority doesn't know. The military commision act had 100 pages rewritten at 4:00 in the morning the day before it was voted on. Several Senators and reps have said that "NOONE" read all the revisions before voting. Not sneaky at all.
And yes, noone i personally know, but plenty of people just like me.

LOOK AT THEM. Ask them about the patriot act or MCA and nobody knows anything.

I said the MCA, not the patriot act. Please do not misquote me.

I do not assume, do some research and look at completely innocent people who were held at guantanamo for 2 or even 3 years. Apparently you may be one of the masses who Don't know what we are really doing.

I said the MCA was revised, not the Patriot act, althought it was also.

And since when do the WANTS of the majority take away the rights of the few. Is slavery justified because the majority would want it, NO. Just becasue ignorant people don't care about other people doesn't mean we can take away 3 years of someone life to torture them just for being from the middle east.
