Tuatara's criteria is the only credible criteria that can be used when discussing comparable death rates. This is because any invasion and subsequent occupation of a foreign nation is the catalyst for all subsequent killing, irrespective of who is actually denotating the bomb or pulling the trigger. For this reason, we have to analyse death rates from the outset of the invasion back in 2003. According to figures published by the British medical journal The Lancet, 1.2 million Iraqi's have died violent deaths who would otherwise have been alive had the invasion not occured, 7 million injured and 4 million displaced out of a total population of 28 million. Whatever his faults, Saddam killed a fraction of this, an estimated 300,000 -500,000

You say our war is with the ideology of terrorism and with its terrorist practitioners - why than did the USA indiscriminately drop cluster bombs near civilian populations in Iraq? Is that what you call a war is with the ideology of terrorism - committing acts of terrorism yourselves?
I condemn our own evil along with the evil of the terrorists, but don't think for a minute that going after specific people will do anything to stop terrorism.

Korea?

And why would Korea want to attack Australia?

Thats news over here - dont think Australians are worried about anyone attacking us excpet for retaliation for being involved in the illegal war in Iraq. We could see terrorist attacks on the mainland.

But notice that out neighbour NEW ZEALAND decided to NOT support George's Bush OIL war in Iraq and they have no fear at all from terrorism on their home soil.

Why is that I wonder?

The only possible target in Australia is the US spy sattelite base PINE GAP - that could be a target in a global conflict.

Honestly, I am not worried about Australia becoming a victim of terror attack. It may worry some people, but I highly doubt it will happen.
Although as you said, I am worried we would become a target because we became involved in the war. That's the only reason anyone would attack us, out of retaliation.

it has nothing to do with supporting or not supporting the war.
it has to do with new zealand having no global power,
and no one caring what they do.
