Yes. We pay cops to kill people, not arrest them.

Two thoughts. First, it's a hell of a lot harder to subdue someone when they are fighting back, even if they are on the ground, without seriously harming them, than it looks. And, proper use of force can LOOK extremely violent. Just because someone is unarmed doesn't mean they aren't dangerous. And, how does that cop on the street, in the dark, know for certain that the person is fully disarmed? They don't. That's why in a case like this for the safety of an officer, he/she needs a person to be fully subdued and in cuffs, especially if they have a reasonable suspicion that the person was involved in a violent crime.

Second, if these guys are dirty, I hope they f'ing rot in jail, being gang-raped by inmates for the rest of their lives.. Every time a cop, wherever they are at, does something like this, it makes the job a lot more dangerous for every single decent guy and gal out there in a uniform. I hate dirty, badge-heavy thugs. In my experience, they are very much in the minority, but there are some departments that have this sort of culture, and they are to be despised.

When I worked for a police agency, my chief once told me that cops, because of the role they play, must be above reproach. It's so true. The public needs to be able to trust the police, or we are nothing more than a 3rd world banana republic. Departments and police unions should never tolerate improper use of force. EVER.

However, I'm not going to be judge and jury of these guys...I don't have all the facts, and they'll get their day in court.

This is very unlike you being showing concern for little kids sleeping in their beds or playing in the streets.

Remember those 6 children that were playing soccer in the local park in the Occupied territories last month and the IDF dropped SMART bombs on their little fragile heads and incinerated them into a burning pulp?. Its good to see have concern for life - UNIVERSALLY!
