(mocking smiley faces included) Continued success! Please start more strings in your favorite two sections until you've completely made a joke of them. (aren't we there yet?) Perhaps then it will be stopped. Not likely though.

I support the oppressed. My great grandfather assisted many Sherpadic jews living in Thesalonika, Greece from the invading NAZI armies. The Greek orthordox chrich also provided fake baptism records and ID's for Jewish people in order to save them from being deported to concentration camps in Germany etc. But you would already know this. Dont tell me how bad the NAZI's were - I know. |

Sophy as an athiest of jewish origin people wonder why I wear a very unusual star of david. It comes from around the neck of a greek jew who fought at my side in 67, we were both very young he was three yrs older than me at 19yrs of age, he had a more orthodox view of what we were doing. We had plans to visit greece after and as I liked the star for its looks and as I did not have one, we were going to visit his uncle's shop to buy one (with discount) I did not need to, I wear his with pride.I did not say kaddish. I like people around me who have courage, loyalty, and are crazy enought to and stand solid no matter the odds. It is a principle that a lot of people and races have, but it is easist to find in greeks and balkan people. My wife was working with greek officers on a cruise ship in the 90s a fuel line fractured of freeport I think, the greek master sounded the first stage of the abandon ship, the pax were 90% americans, when my wife had finnished getting people organised at there muster station, they had removed by force a number of paxs who had locked themselves in there cabins. She is a certificate (miami costguard) firefighter, she got her fireproof suit joined her team in the bowels of the ship and fought the fire, with the skill of the greek master and the crews courage they saved the ship got it into port, without putting the pax into life boats. She said it was her job, but she was upset at the lack of respect she and the crew got from the pax

In WW2 when the NAZI's sent in Italy to bomb Greek ground positions, there was a famous Greek who rode a horse in the hills as the bombs came raining down - HE SHOUTE AERA! AERA! and tried to get all the ground troops united in pushing back the Italian attacks. This Greek who wa killed by a falling bomb was a Jewish/Greek. He is a heor in Greece of the greatest proportions. Many of the Jews who were rounded up in WW2 and sent to the concentration camps where singing the Greek national anthem when they were about to enter the Gas chambers. This has been documented by holocaust survivors. Many of The shepardic jews living in Thesalonika in Greece were saved by the Greek orthodox church by giving them false baptism documents and hidden in Athens and other parts of Greece by citizens of Greece. The Germans were brutal - My grandparents home was burnt to the ground becasue a letter was found in it that had an American stamp on it. The villages had fled to the mountains when the German armies marched across parts of Greece. If the Greek freedom fighters in the mountains killed a German officer, 100 Greek civilians were executed at random. But Greece, with its terrain and delocalised resistance managed to fight off many German attacks (interestingly, Hitler didnt want to invade Greece and prefered that Greece was part of his forces. They did bomb the Pathenon in Athens though) cheers |
