Default Neocons support troops only with ribbons & bumper stickers

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...030100999.html

I havw always stated that the 'foundation' of the NEOCONS claims of supporting our troops was about as lasting as a magnetic "Support the troops" sticker in a car wash. Are the traditional Republicans and Democrats that much better ? Not whole lot but at least they did not bombard us with thier phoney baloney "look at me I support the troops cus I have a sticker".

I have stated in past posts that one cry major way to really support the troops was push your Senators and Reps to fund the military hospitals, research for prostetics, and rehabilitation training.

I have done this on every chance I got to do it whenever Sen Lieberman came to thank us volunteers.

I tried to reach Senator Dodd, but you will see ......... he was the wrong side of useless when it came to that topic as was former Congresswoman-person Johnson !! So you see I am not being partisan here.

lets see. I've sent supplies, toiletres, books, and funding for other groups to do the same. I've paid for drinks and meals of troops that I have seen in airports.

Do I measure up to your standards for supporting the troops?

Neoconservatism
Quote:
1. Economics: Cutting tax rates in order to stimulate steady, wide-spread economic growth and acceptance of the necessity of the risks inherent in that growth, such as budget deficits.
2. Domestic Affairs: Preferring strong government but not intrusive government, slight acceptance of the welfare state, adherence to social conservatism, and disapproval of counterculture.
3. Foreign Policy: Patriotism is a necessity, world government is a terrible idea, statesmen should have the ability to accurately distinguish friend from foe, protect national interest both at home and abroad, and the necessity of a strong military.

its a nice story sabr i didn't mean to undermine it.

you are right. i have been to many vet hospitals and the living condisionts are not that great. chalk tht one up to big bill's move to undermine the military during the 90's. its one of the resons i got out.

in all seriousness the least the naysayers could do is visit a hospital and honor one of these soldiers by paying them a visit. they don't get enough of that. or perhaps thats where their compassion just stops.

You can play politics and try to blame all on Clinton but the facts are not with you. BusH I made the first cuts to the military. Bush I had used Cheney 's military reorg plan which rwduce the military and to make the Guard and Reserve as a integral adjunct to the regular forces.

Clinton being the runny nosed liberal did not reduce the funding to the VA.

Clinton did take Bush I and CHENEY'S military by an additional 5%.

REmember that it was essentially the military that was there after 8 years of Clintonianism that won the invasion of Iraq. It was the policies of Bush II THAT IS LOSING THE PEACE.

Default I was at Walter Reed in 1969 and I got great care !

Neocons are great at waving the flag when it's time for all the others to go to war but just as Rumballs did try to do it on the cheap.

They failed to poject that this Iraq invasion will result in long term casualty rate and when some of us tried to tell them that we need to plan for more casualties we were acccused of being checken and cut and runners.

Well if you want our sons and daughters to stay and fight be prepared to take care of the results. I am not saying that just becasue I belive that the Iraq II war was the wrong war at the wrong time but Neocons failed us. They failed us becasue they did not think ahead and expect a projected war.

Neocons were arrogant and calous with the lives and health of our fighting men. Neocons alway used the excuse that our military are volunteers so they "knew what they were getting into".

Well tell you what !!!! T aking good care of our military starts with sending them to fight with all of the best equipment that we can give them and giving them all of the best care that we can when they return home hurt.

I was at Walter Reed in 1969 and I got great care ! If it was doable them it can be now!!!!

***Personal attack deleted.***

Did you not see what I just wrote? I gave first hand account of Clinton taking vital equipment from units during the 90's.
