Commissioned Second Lieutenant. Made it to First Lieutenant mostly by continuing to breathe. Was in the Inactive Reserve by that time, so never saw Captain. Resigned my commission in 2000 when my first child was born.

End of the Cold War was good for the world, but bad for my military career.
