True. So?

They are American Heros and their images are being used to promote a false political doctrine.
First, the cover is illustrating an issue, not promoting a particular doctrine.

Second, are you saying the problem merely is that it involves a doctrine you disapprove of? So it would be okay if it involved something you supported?

These are some of the brave Americans that spared all of Europe from speaking German and suffering from ethnic and religious cleansing.
So let's fetishize them. Fabulous.

If the photo were disrespectful, you might have a case. But it's akin to using Photoshop to put an object in the Statue of Liberty's hand: a common technique that modifies an iconic photo to illustrate a subject.

I guess the problem I have with it is this.

Liberals (not democrats) take classic American icons, which they hate like the military. They trash the military, call them terrorists and all in all hate their very existence. Then when trying to make a point will use a classic photo like this (that American soldiers died during) and (*)(*)(*)(*) on it to get their liberal point across. What is next a picture of trees buried at Arlington?

Then they try to play it off like its a joke and anyone offended by their stupidity has no sense of humor.

I think it does a great disresperct to every Marine, soldier, sailor, and airman to ever serve. That picture is iconic for a reason... it's a reminder of the sacrifices made to raise that flag on that rock. To use it in any other way should be akin to treason.

I agree and am disgusted by these lunatics.

No those soldiers sacrificed everything they had and should not be used to promote anything other than the spirit of the American soldier.

So let's fetishize them. Fabulous.

The statue of liberty is a really bad choice to back up your argument. Try tomb of the unknown soldier.
