And they have to cross Iraqi airspace to get to their target. Increasing the odds the US will get pulled in.

Since we're still there as Liberators I suppose our reaction to that would depend a lot on how the Iraqi government wanted to play things. I suppose they might clear missiles headed for Israel.

Of course we haven't totally turned things over either.

That makes a big difference though, missiles, especially ballistic missiles, are most vulnerable early on in their flight paths.

Like when the Iraqis wanted those Blackwater thugs for the State Dept to leave and we said no? And like when the Iraqis wanted Turkey to withdraw its troops from Iraqi soil and we said no again?

Iraq is for Americans, not for Iraqis. One day we might let them have their country back, but I wouldn't count on that to happen in the foreseeable future.

Nah I think each president will eventually try to pass things over.

Though if we elect Obama it'll be pretty quick. Actually I wonder if electing Obama would cause the Israelis to strike while Bush is still in office?

An Iraq that allows Iranian missiles over its airspace but not Israeli ones would change the tactical situation quite a bit.

Though once we've gone it's possible Iraq wouldn't have the arms required to knock down either.

My friend, I dont want to get into who's friend does what, and I am not comfortable with war anymore, but I think your friend in the missile industry should learn to keep his peace

Israel is incapable of destroying Irans Nuclear project for a few reasons:

1.Unlike the strike in Iraq, Iran has to many spread out and heavily defended sites.
2.If Israel launches an airstrike they have to fly to long a distance over to many nations to get to the targets.
3.If Israel manages to attack the sites the casualties will be huge.

Only the US has the power and logistics to make an effective attack on Irans nuclear targets.

gotta admit we made a big show of having the population get their fingers inked and stand in line to vote
that proved we established a democracy in iraq. now they are a soverign people who can decide things for themselves ... just so long as we say what they want is ok, first

The first mistake anybody makes is to underestimate Israel.
