definitely disturbing. Soldiers doin what they're told i guess. Except, of course, the guy sayin he got a thrill out of it. Is that normal? I don't have any idea. Does the military generally encourage that, hyping it up or whatever?

still disturbing, this coming from a marine that was in Afghanistan.
Speaking of kids, my CO gave the go ahead to destroy a vehicle, the Cobra pilot decided to go in for a closer inspection and it turned out to be a bus load of women and children. Some give a f**k and others dont, thats how wars go. |

I have heard a lot of people saying that John Kerry is "weak" on security, etc. I have an idea: Is it possible that someone who has experience "real war" (no landing on an aircraft carrier), might have a clue?
War is an ugly beast. I am amazed beyond belief that the "Christian" right is so in favor of Bush. How could a group who espouses Christ be in favor of his foreign policy? Quote:
Oh, I know. Maybe they don't see the Iraqi's as human. That would be my best guess. One more thing. In my church, for the most part, the war was looked at negatively. I argued with so many of them about WoMD... lol. I am still kicking myself.

WAKE UP PEOPLE. You can believe whatever you want about tax cuts for the rich, Energy Policy for the Oil companies, deficits funding "tax refunds" to try and buy your vote, etc. Those are debatable. But a Justification for war in Iraq only justifiable now on the concept of Nation building. And IMO Imperialistic Nation building is NOT what the USA should be doing. |

I know that the clip jumps over the course of a few secons, but I figure thats just to edit out some of the bull to make it a bit shorter for bandwidth purposes or maybe he said the name of his unit or named something else that was security sensitive, but its obvious that what he spoke of was all in the same context.
As for Bush and others not seeing the other nations as men is true from what I saw in Afghanistan. We knew immediately after 9/11 no one was going to question us and when we saw a convoy of what could have been Taliban or Northern Alliance we didnt hesitate to blow it up. Some in Intel argued the fact they could have been allies but we didnt take the time to see if they had a white marker on their vehicles signifying that they were friendlies, had they been white allies like the Aussies or Brits Im sure we would have. |

the page itself says that the first part with the guys laughing is definitely real and the 2nd half may or may not be out of context. however-the 1st half is disturbing enough
