    Denmark already has swung Left.

    As did Belgium.

France will in a matter of months.

As probably will Germany in a year from now.

As will The Netherlands (although -- not sure. Dutch folks behave strange when it comes down to money).

=> +/- 150 million Europeans (around 170 million if we include The Netherlands).

    => Maybe Italy too?

They query such a swing because in Britain we are stuck with the slash and burn incumbents until 2015 at least. Should Scotland choose independence, then England will remain under Conservative domination for a generation, barring a seismic political upheaval.

Hello! I'm from Europe, the place where history comes from.

"Free money" ? Its not free it belongs to the tax payers - All Governments, but particularly left wing ones like to impose high taxes so they can then bride people to vote for them with their own money!

Irresponsible borrowing has led much of the Western World into near ruin. Governments and individuals will have to live within their means and not consume at such high levels as have been seen in the past 20yrs.
A kind word is like a Spring day ....

More Tosh , I am sad to say .
Your opinion was for two or three years time and your examples therefore have absolutely nothing to do with your original proposition .
Don't try to change the terms of the debate -- intellectual dishonesty
When things get tough -- really tough --- the serfs always want a villain .And they will want revenge , even though they have absolutely no idea of true causes .
And the blame will fall on the Spenders which always has been Socialists .
Janpoor , it never ceases to amaze me that you never see further than the end of your nose and you take views which the consensus of experts totally disagree with you on . And , time and time again , you are left with egg running down you .

    Strange,...

Since in every government the Socialists have been a partner in (federal or regional level), they have run budget surplusses or balanced ones. For about 20 years, until the Anglo-Americans ran the world economy in the ground in 2008.

I doubt it. I suspect the anti-immigrant parties will be the biggest winners. (which might even make this whole thing a positive one)

If however, we do take a turn to the left, then that will be the end of Europe. The only thing that can save Europe is a hard turn to the right in every aspect. Sadly i just dont see it coming. I would probably try to get a green card but im not sure is America any better anymore.

The west is (*)(*)(*)(*)ed. And we did it to ourselves. This is what half a century of unchallenged socialism does to a civilization. I hope the chinese will be gentle with us.

The west is through. As far as the Chinese are concerned, they are interested in settling scores for a century of humiliation.
