US Ministry of Justice and CIA Internal Security Division!!!
As it became known from the press US Ministry of Justice and CIA Internal Security Division began a joint fact-finding of CIA destruction of tapes with recorded interrogations of two senior Al-Qaida’s members – Abu Abd Zubayd and Al-Rahim Al-Nashir, who are now based at Guantanamo. It is interesting that the films were destroyed in November of 2005, at a time when The Washington Post criminated CIA in the use of so-called secret prisons for holding incommunicado all those, who were suspected of terrorism.
It is clear that such “black sites” were very suitable for USA to conceal information on the torture, applied to secretly kidnapped people all over the world. And in this case it is not necessarily for CIA leaders to substantiate claims that all detainees are real terrorists or extremists. As nobody knows the lists of detainees (remember notorious scandal with Guantanamo detainees’ lists, exhibited before the public only with the help of Matthew Diaz!), you can never learn neither who nor for what activities have turned out to be in US prison.
The history has repeated itself in the case of CIA tapes, whose destruction has escaped observation of even US House of Representatives Committee on Intelligence, which is directly responsible for solution of such questions. Moreover, the existence of these records has been cloaked from members of September 11 Commission, who were applied for offering all materials, related to this tragedy!
Thus, I cannot but agree with Co-Chairman of this Commission Lee Hamilton, who said that “the current situation in CIA gives rise to suspicion that agency’s activity should be concealed, because in most cases it could be found criminal in accordance with US and international law”.
Once again it shows everybody in the world that Amnesty International’s numerous accusations of CIA kidnapping and secret detainees’ cooking are very reasonable. And it is obvious that CIA will try to obstruct the present investigation and to defeat the ends of law by all available means.
