Walter Veltroni (Rome, 1955): He is the incumbent major of Rome, and He is considered one of the best major of the world by the English journal "Time". He was Deputy from 1987 to 2001, and from 2001 to 2008 He was Major of Rome. In 2007 He was one on the founders of the Democrat Party, the new party of the Center-Left area. He was elected on the October 2007 the first Secretary of Democrat Party by open Primary Elections with 75% of popoular vote.

Silvio Berlusconi (Milan, 1936): He is the more important entrepreneur and the richest man of Italy. He is the owner of the television business "Mediaset", the football team "A.C. Milan", the editor "Mondadori" and other businesses. In 1994 he have founded the party "Forward Italy". Now is the five time that Berlusconi is candidate as Prime Minister. In 1994 He win the election, in 1996 was defeated by Romano Prodi, in 2001 He defeated Francesco Rutelli and in 2006 was defeated by Romano Prodi. He is an incumbent Deputy from 1994 and He was two times Prime Minister, the first in 1994 and the second from 2001 to 2006.

Bruno Tabacci had retired his candidature and now will run in support of Pierferdinando Casini.
