Default 30 years more Oil for the UK

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7435151.stm

Plenty of reports emerging from the Scottish Oil fields that an estimated 30 billion barrels of oil remains to be extracted, estimates 25 years of production and would put Scotland on a par with Kuwait as a World oil producer.

Advances in oil drilling techniques, such as 'directional drilling' and the rising price of oil has meant that previous supplies that remained untouched will will now be extracted - leading to a windfall in tax revenue for the UK Government.

This is of course excellent news for the UK and World wide companies that are involved in the oil extraction business in the North Sea and to the Scottish and UK at large economy.

I have several friends that work out of Aberdeen (Oil capital of Europe) and they will be most happy as they will be able to purchase another house for their property portfolio.

I'd just like to add that in this World today 80% of all oil extracted - it is done by State owned monopolies. These being Police State Oligarchy such as Russia and China or Islamists states without Democracies.

Of course that is not how it is done here in the UK (or in the US)

So we are open to business!!! Plenty of oil related jobs to be had. $200K/year salary easy!!!

The revenue gained by the UK Government in the next 30 years will have a major political effect. Just as it did in the last 30 years - just ask Maggy Thatcher!

Good news for the Scots. If only the news was relevant to the current oil crisis.

Well I might have been tempted to put it in the "Current news" section then!

But really it does!

El-Badri pointed out that crude oil movements had showed that some member countries could not even find buyers for their additional oil supply

So it does have a bearing - if only to drive home to the thickys that THERE IS NO OIL SHORTAGE TODAY OR PREDICTED!

Having Oil gives the Country Political power - and Scotland will rank about 7th in the World Oil producing countries for the next 30-40 years

God blessed Scotland!

It is on a knife's edge

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...oll-shows.html

52% of Scots and 59% of English want Scotland to be independent.

I strongly disagree with this foolhardy idea. There will be an Independence referendum in 2010 - so watch this space .....

I shall vote for maintaining the Union of the British peoples - its better to share!
