The reason this style of rape is non-violent is because the victim is unconscious and unable to resist.

If I come up behind you, place a cloth soaked with chloroform over your nose, render you unconscious and steal your wallet - that is somehow a lesser offense than standing face-to-face and pulling a gun upon you?

I have no evidence other than my suspicions, but I suspect that something of that sort - being given a date rape drug - is what happened to Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

I agree though - criminals who perpetrate a crime of this sort don't need to be imprisoned, they need to be sent to a mental health facility (read: criminal asylum) for a long, long visit.

Dumb idea.

For one thing, knocking someone out to rape them is VIOLENT. It involves physically overriding the will of the victim.

For another... victims should not receive rewards for victimhood. This creates too great an incentive for false accusation... Being that rape is already hard to prove- this will cast further doubt on most accusations even if it doesn't result in any real false accusations.

And then there's the problem that the perpetrator probably won't have the money... then he gets put in jail for not paying fines. I'd rather he go to prison for rape.

Agreed. I can't visualize any circumstances where there isn't violence involved in rape. Like you said, it involves physically overriding the will of the victim.

No evidence it wasn't an accidental death.
However the death of George Smith on his honeymoon cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship was accompanied by the drugging of his wife - IMO by Rohypnol. It's reasonable to assume he was drugged also.

Rape is violent. Forcing yourself on someone that doesn't want it is vilence. In my mind there is no such thing as a non violent rape. I mean think about it. If any of you was raped you'd think it was violent.
