I missed somehow that Israel gags info. Expected Israel is democracymore or less until stumbled at Jewrusalem: Israeli Uncensored News site www.jewrusalem.org/en . Does anyone know if Israel truly cuts reports or that's a name only? News crew there seem very much cranky, taking on left and right and everything in between. Umm I didn't encounter these reports on yahoo or other sources. Are they tru
ly edited or what? |

I looked at the sight and it seemed mostly true and accurate.
I do know a lot of info on Israel is censored for two reasons. 1) Some things don't sell newspapers. Eg the rocket barrage Israel has had to endure by "home made" kassams that have caused panic to Sederot citizens, has killed small numbers of civilians, injured douzans, but caused shock to hundreds. A victim of shock, whose life has been turned into tatters, simply does not sell newspapers as much as a person killed EVEN IF that killed person was a top militant. 2) Palestinian censorship. As a condition of being given guided tours full of staged images in the Palestinian territories designed to make any damage look worse than it actually is, the media organisations are not allowed to publish certain types of information. One example of this was the lynching of the Israeli soldier. The Italian journalist who risked his life to bring us the footage was fired and his organisation appologised to the PA to keep their reporting rights. It's the same in Iran, Lebanon and almost any other country of the Arab side. |

The journalist had his press card suspended after the Israeli government:- Quote:
So he got suspended because the Israeli government wanted him out. Not quite the spin you were putting on it. |
