Well, the History Channel scored big with the debut of its show "The Bible", on Sunday night, with over 27 Million viewers, LEADING ALL SHOWS in ratings:

'The Bible' debut blessed with great ratings

    Ratings for "The Bible"? Heavenly.

The History Channel's miniseries bowed last Sunday night and led all shows in ratings; the premiere of the miniseries is the top cable entertainment telecast of 2013 so far, with more than 27 million total viewers. (The 8-10 PM initial airing drew 13.1 million total viewers -- 4.6 million of them in that sweet 25-54 range.)

"The Bible" performed well for the network's online properties as well, as History.com had its best day ever, and the series topped Twitter's trending topics in the lead-up to its debut, with celebrities also tweeting about it.

Nancy Dubuc, President of Entertainment and Media for A&E Networks, commented, "Clearly there is a nationwide groundswell that was waiting for this moment," and that's no surprise, given that the Bible itself is the best-selling book of all time -- and given the pedigree of the executive producers of "The Bible." Mark Burnett, of course, is the brains behind veritable TV institutions like "Survivor" and "The Apprentice," and his wife and co-producer, Roma Downey, is one of the series' only name stars. (Actor and voice-over artist Keith David narrates; Academy-Award winner Hans Zimmer is handling the score.)

Dubuc also credited the efforts of Burnett and Downey's "team" for the premiere's success, and it sounds like they've gone 360 in their attempts to get "The Bible" onto everyone's mind. The release of "The Bible" on DVD and Blu-Ray is set for April, and Burnett and Downey's tie-in book is already in stores.

The series on DVD and Blue Ray is also expected to set records when it becomes available in April.

The WORLD WIDE interest in this series is exploding, and will continue to do so, as the most popular book of all time comes to life on the small screen, to the obvious delight of millions upon millions of people.

Meh, watched the work of fiction for about 2 minutes. Then changed the channel.

Here is the problem. I know how it ends. the mythical Jesus gets crucified and comes back to life. Whilst I appreciate that it brings to life the Bible, allegedly, the acting was poor, the stories old and worn, and the special effects looked like they were out of 1983.

I did watch Vikings and liked that, though I think Gabriel Byrne is miscast.

Did they show the part in Genesis where God creates the plants on the 3rd day.....but doesn't create the Sun until the 4th day...and all the plants die in -200 Kelvin temperatures?

As with everything you post, millions upon millions disagree with you.

Yep. Not surprising. The book has done pretty well in readership, too.

    No story needed.

But the bible is a a pretty good story and a lot of over stories borrowed themes from it. I'm just finishing up the last season of Battlestar Gallactica, which was to my surprise very good. It borrows a lot of themes from the bible.

They didn't say that. God created Light before the plants, as there was already evening and morning BEFORE he put the stars in the sky, including our Sun.

    Okay.

The couple of minutes I saw just sucked. I have no doubt a lot of people watched it. It just did not seem particularly well made.

As with all Leftninnies, completely ignorant of the Bible. It says what it says. Light was created BEFORE the Sun,and there was an EVENING and MORNING at the end of the First Day of Creation.

The meager limits of what you can comprehend is not the standard by which the Bible was written.

The best show about Bible I've ever seen was about books that actually didn't make it to final version of it. That show also explained WHY they didn't make it... Great show, puts history behind Bible into perspective.

Most people believe that Jesus lived and died by crucificxion regardless of whether they believe he was the Messiah. History supports this as fact. Pretty short sighted to call Him mythical!

As always, we see exactly who doesn't know WTF they are talking about, per usual:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Genesis

    Chapter 1

[1:1] In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth,
[1:2] the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.
[1:3] Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
[1:4] And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
[1:5] God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
[1:6] And God said, "Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
[1:7] So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so.
[1:8] God called the dome Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.
[1:9] And God said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so.
[1:10] God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
[1:11] Then God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it." And it was so.
[1:12] The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good.
[1:13] And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
[1:14] And God said, "Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years,
[1:15] and let them be lights in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth." And it was so.

[1:16] God made the two great lights - the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night - and the stars.

[1:17] God set them in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth,
[1:18] to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
[1:19] And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

Apparently, there is more to the universe than just the Earth.

Nothing funnier than Leftninny Doofi pretending knowledge of the Bible; it's even funnier than when they pretend that they have the faintest clues about Science and/or Math.

Man, you must LOVE public humiliation....

    Really? History supports this?

The first mention I find of Jesus is a fellow known as "Christus" written about in some writings of Josephus. These were written well after the death of your alleged Jesus.

There is no historical evidence from the time of Christ that supports his existence.

Now there may have been a minor Jewish cult leader named Jesus, but Yeshua was a very common name in that time.

I pretty much think religion is superstitious non-sense.

Then one evening several years ago, while trying to enjoy a plate of spaghetti, a voice in my head (not audible like sound) distinctly told be to get up go NOW to a specific location and there I would find a vacant house that was for someone else that needed to move into it the next morning. WTF??? How could I say no? I drove to the location (never had been there before), the vacant house was there just like the voice said, I called the people and told them the deal, and they moved in the next day. Then I was like, why didn't "the voice" tell the people directly and let me finish my meal??? Never got an answer. Crazy, but true. Now, I don't know what's going on. Also crazy, but true.

I could use another specific "instinct" like that - like maybe the winning power ball numbers or something. But noooooo.
