Yes lies just like all other campaign promises. Like transparency Like no lobbyist Like bills sitting one his desk for five days. Like gitmo Like non bid contracts to Haliburton Like Obama care Like not raising taxes on the middle class Like the NSA Like wistle blower he promised to protect. Like stoping federal funds to colleges that don't lower cost Like his promise to have annual state of the union address. Like his promise to lower tax rates for factories in the US Like his promise for veteran job corp Like his promise to eliminate oil and gas loophole tax rates. Like his promise to extend childcare tax credits His promise to have a foreclosure protection plan. His promise to end income taxes for seniors making less than $50,000.00 a year How many more of his lies do you need. How about his promise to have an immigration bill by the end if the year. How many years ago was that? How about his promise not to sign the NDAA. You know the one his lawyers wrote. The man is a liar. To stay on topic where is his veteran work corp he promised? That sure would help these guys. Nowhere because he just said it to get elected. Lied to get his hands on lobbyist money and power.
Of course, but that's not really where I'm coming from. There are only 4 ways to put food on your plate: theft, taxation, labor, or charity. I am only prepared to exercise the latter two. The left is prepared to exercise the latter three. I don't see how this makes me some sort of evil person, I reject taxation to pay for meals for the same reason the left rejects theft. It's really the most elementary of disagreements.
you should get a grip on reality, it's the gop that wants food stamps cut you're projecting your own situation "Frankly, the Obama administration was more transparent about this effort than we were in the Bush administration," - General Michael Hayden, NSA director under former president George W. Bush
Lucky you. My service friends tell me this isn't true anywhere around here. But why bother with the military people now? You got YOUR goodies so screw 'em, right?
Agreed. But libs have to face the reality that the welfare baby and food stamp president SOLD YOU OUT.
Rather than provide food stamps for welfare queens who never wore the uniform or served in combat why not raise the pay of young patriots who are serving on active duty? It's the dems ho want to cut funding o the military and screw the soldiers.
Obviously this is only part of the story. The definition of family for example. Some sources report a growing number of single parents within the military, in fact some have encouraged single moms to enlist because of the great benefits and child care. Another unexplained part is the growth of military families in general. There is a little known rule in the military which basically requires a single enlisted person to ask for and recieve permission from his or her commander before getting married. It is little known because it is never invoked any more. It was not very long ago that it was enforced. A few decades ago it was normal for senior enisted personnel and officers to be married while most rank and file enlisted personnel were single. There are many reasons why this changed not the least of which is the military specifically began trying to recruit more people by making enlisted service more attractive to young married people. Several years ago it briefly made national news when the Marine Corps very seriously considered prohibiting marriage among jr enlisted personnel. They intended to require Marines to delay marriage until they reached the rank of Sgt. The idea made sense since that allows a few more years to build maturity and a stable income. It was mainly public outcry and congress which pressured the Marine Corps to drop the proposal. The leadership of the UCMJ felt they could make it work and still get a stronger and more capable corps as a result. Probably the entire military would benefit from such ideas. The resistance would come from congress and liberals who treat the military as a lab for societal experiments and as a jobs/welfare training program. Ironically limiting marriage within the military would also benefit the tax payer.
how does any of what you wrote, excuse not taking care of needy families? nobody sold me out, you're making up fairy tales again
What? What have they been transparent about? The NSA nope. The. IRS nope. The drone program nope The non bid contracts to Haliburton nope This has been the worst in transparent administrations.
We are talking about this administration. Stay focused. Did Obama come clean about the level of spying? Nope. Did clapper lie to congress and the American people. That isn't transparency
try to get a clue "Frankly, the Obama administration was more transparent about this effort than we were in the Bush administration," - General Michael Hayden, NSA director under former president George W. Bush
I don't really see the utility in making this about any one President. Obama is a pretty hardline hawk when it comes to executive privilege and confidentiality. But that has been the case with most Presidents. I think the issue goes far beyond party politics - what matters is that all Presidents conceal the truth, and that the decision on what needs to be exposed and what needs to remain secret should be made by the people. My suggestion is a civilian panel, formed using the same process as Grand Jury, empowered by Congress to determine what whistleblowers need to be protected, what information needs to be revealed, and privy to just about everything the government does. All decisions must be made by the group, via democratic vote. I have far more trust in the ability of the average American to sort out what needs to be secret and what doesn't than I do our Congressional leaders.
Yes, if you're a junior enlisted with 2 or 3 children, you may need supplemental food assistance. The Basic Allowance for Subsistence or BAS as it's referred... is meant to offset the cost of meals for the enlisted and officers. ,BAS is not intended to cover the costs of meals for family, hence the need for Federal supplemental food assistance also if there are more mouths to feed. The enlisted get $352.27 a month as part of BAS, at least as of 2013. Obviously if you have a family, that's not going to cut it when combined with a base pay of only around $1,700 a month for an E-2; around $20,400 annually.
This fiscal conservative would like to see the military budget (and the military itself) significantly reduced, and of course see the petrodollar wars brought to an end. I suppose, though, that you think the thousands employed by the military should all be given more taxed and borrowed money, eh? Cause, gosh, that's so much better than letting these poor deceived dopes go get food stamps, which of course are ultimately funded in the same ways.
you're not very good at making suppositions funny "I want to create a White House that is more transparent and accountable than any government agency we've seen before," Obama said while campaigning in 2008. "Frankly, the Obama administration was more transparent about this effort than we were in the Bush administration," said Michael Hayden in 2013
Then why are you calling out fiscal conservatives? Did you think they would support spending even more on the military?
how is it strange? Troops reach out for help feeding their families Hundreds of financially strained military families in the Washington area are lining up for turkeys and free groceries this holiday season, depending on the USO to help put food on the table. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/troops-reach-out-for-help-feeding-their-families/2011/11/22/gIQAQDtXpN_story.html
