Why not marriage for any two consenting adults, not currently married, who wish to get married? Whats so special about those couples who happen to be "gay"? (asked in a snide tone of voice)
Is my answer not good enough? I already openly expressed the dissolvement of religious based marriages when it comes to government. I openly accepted/support all forms of marriages between mutually accepting partners. Go ahead and check through my post history. What's the point of myself typing out that sentence? Is it for your satisfaction?
As I noted previously, the correct answer is to eschew name-calling altogether. Even a substitute teacher should have at least as many social tools in his or her toolkit that Eric Cartman has. By the same token, it's not unreasonable to expect a person who purports to have grown up to act like a grown-up. Pretty basic stuff, really.
You should stop responding to yourself because your obviously hopeless and humanity has given up. What gives you the right to demand anyone recite some oath you've dreamed up? Get a grip your not the ruler of some tribe.
"Biblically and historically, the government was very uninvolved in marriage. I like that. I don't know why we should register our marriage to the federal government. I think it's a sacrament." "Well, I believe marriage is between one man and one woman." Ron Paul But it seems most Ron Paul supporters and Libertarians are big advocates of gay marriage.
Whether someone supports gay marriage is not a litmus test for ANYTHING. Not for a job, not to buy a car, not to speak on a forum. It is none of your business what this poster is OK with. You are not god of the gays. Get over yourself and stop badgering people.
I can envision congressional hearings in the future where citizens are commanded to appear so they can be asked 'are you now or have you ever been opposed to gay marriage'
Using the word flamboyant should not get a teacher fired imo. Had you called him a homosexual slur, i could see it, but if you were honest about what happened, i would say you were treated unfairly.
He... well, hmmm, is saying "It" offensive?... not "she" surely, unless they're into Role Playing, which can be fun, but I prefer a bit more leather and buckles, latex over the right curves... oh, sorry... well, hell, .... anyway, I'm sure if they had their way there would be a litmus test. I didn't approve of Litmus test shenanigans when they were directed against LGBT, and I'm sure not going to start now. Everybody, myself included, has their twists and turns. I don't want to know yours, and you don't want mine shoved in your face, so why can't we just keep it to just within the partners and let others choices be a mystery. Why would any of us care? Really?! -
They demand the special treatment of "gay marriage" for the gays. - - - Updated - - - SHOULDNT be but that is exactly what it is becoming.
You don't know enough facts to dismiss the claim outright, nor do I. It's for that reason I suggested OP see some lawyers specializing in employment law. OP thinks that an at will employee can be treated any old way, and that is -not- the case in any jurisdiction I'm aware of.
You weren't there. You don't know what the kid was doing. I'm very happy to have been educated before all this nonsense in schools. Had I acted up in class, my teacher would have gotten the paddle out of the desk with the holes for greater sting and taken me out in the hall for a chat, and it would likely have been well-deserved.
They can be terminated in any old way, for any reason whatsoever, as long as its not because of their race, religion, gender, age, national origin and in some jurisdictions, sexual orientation. Here he is being terminated for a comment he made.
In Florida I doubt a substitute teacher could find anyone willing to take the case. Substitute work, part time work and so on just do not produce predictable incomes. Its very hard to access damages. Hurt feelings have no monetary value. Besides which it is an at will work state, which provides very little legal protection for fired workers of any kind. Despite this many employers are terrified of being sued. I knew a single mother with 1/8 Cherokee blood who got away with murder because she let it be known she would sue at the drop of a hat. So, who knows really.
Contact an attorney and try to get him to take it on contingency. You might make some bucks, though I think the attorney will keep it all. In any case they'll probably rescind the firing as soon as they see a legal letterhead, and that's what you want, as a firing on your record can follow you. If you can't get an attorney to take it you might call your local news and if they won't talk to them just call up the school itself and tell them you need them to put the matter in your writing for a possible lawsuit. Anybody usually backs down as soon as negative publicity or a lawsuit is mentioned I've been called flamboyant and never took it to mean gay. Salvador Dali, the world's greatest painter and an icon of mine was terribly flamboyant as a lifestyle. He may have been gay I don't know, but I don't think his flamboyance was part of being gay, just a part of his personality. OTOH it IS a serious misuse of the word to use it in a negative fashion in almost any circumstance. Flamboyance can be quiet or loud according to what is tasteful in the situation, and all flamboyance is tasteful, that's one of the word's connotations, to attract attention in a tasteful manner. What the kid was doing wasn't flamboyant, it was just noisy and disturbing.
I'm not going to march to your beat and satisfy what you want from me. I just laid out a perfectly good explanation to where I stand when it comes to the rights of everyone. If you read into my quote further you would understand that I willingly accept unions between two or more people. Also if you're going to say "Ah ha! Civil Union..." I'd also point you to what I desire in terms legal terminology of marriages when it comes to the government.
Wow, it seems like you're getting beat up by the forces of "tolerance" for not thinking exactly as they do.
