Why on earth would you observe Jewish rituals and traditions?

I was an atheist until I was about 12 or 13 when I began listening to Garner Ted Armstrong who himself explained hidden meaning in the Jewish Festivals..... and fasts.

Since 1990..... I have had an extra reason or two to continue to fast on Yom Kippur.......

Oh no... not Ted Garner Armstrong.. Sheesh.

The Jewish laws and purification rituals were invented by the Levites to keep the Hebrews separate from others.

There won't be any Exodus USA although the Likkud does its best to scare American and European Jews into moving to Palestine ... and bring their money with them.

I had some seriously cool ideas - meditations under my Sukkot this morning!

    My daughter likes it too!

I haven't figured out yet how to add a file to a post.... but I pegged "The Way of Holiness and the Sacred Hoop" by Robert Mendelson to the top of this Facebook group...…

I could not get my head around Robert's other book......."God's Peace Plan for the Holy Land" until I read TWOHaTSH.

I really think that you would enjoy it as well....... Robert introduced me to Black Elk

there is really no HARD evidence that the Palestinians are descendents of the Jews from 2,000 years ago.

the haplotypes that modern Jews and Palestinians share, are also shared by other peoples NOT living in Palestine.

I know that this isn't exactly "hard" evidence but I still remember my Modern World Problems teacher back in perhaps 1977 stating that the Palestinians were disliked by many of the average people in Iraq because they were so much more hard working, dedicated and creative than the average Iraqi?????!!!

Saddam thought that Palestinians were awesome because they were so good at getting things done that he wanted done!

That wouldn't remind you of any particular group of people would it????!

Hadrian was an evil mass-murderer, but he did not completely destroy (or exiled) the Jewish community of Israel.
Even in the early 7th century it was still strongh anough to wage a desperate uprising against the Byzantinians.

And don't forget the Jewish uprising against Constantius Gallus 250 years earlier as well.

Bar Kochba was a great man, but the Jewish freedom struggle neither started nor ended with him.

Hadrian in addition to what you wrote was a homosexual he had picked a very beautiful Greek lad by the name of Antinus who drowned bathing in the Nile... I think the Nile Crocodiles must have had a wonderful meal... A port in Gaza was built in his name... the Hamas leader of today just destroyed it a few months ago.

I know about Antinous as well, but hate Hadrian only for being a genocidal anti-Semite.
    Not for being homosexual.

Arabic was the language of the Palestinians... Yiddish the language of the Jews since Hebrew was basically a dead language from the time of the Babylonia exile until 1948.

Israel in its history was ruled by Egypt, Assyria, Greece, Turkey and so on...

Aramaic and Greek were the linga franca of the first century.. Aramaic was the language of commerce .... the Decapolis was very prosperous and cosmopolitan compared to Jerusalem.

So what do you think of the research by Tsvi Misinai and his Engagement Movement group who assert that the Palestinians are Jews….. or Messianic Jews…. who converted to Islam…. and over the centuries forgot that their great, great, great, great grandparents were Jewish?!

Well, some Jews of Eretz Israel were forcibly assimilated after the Roman invasion in 63 B.C.E.
But the vast majority would rather die (or flee) than convert.
    The "Palestinians" are Arabs.

From the perspective of post Nazi era citizens of Israel……… what happened to the Jews who stayed in the Roman Province of Judaea may be difficult to comprehend but….. remember……. over these past thirteen centuries … Jews tended to be far far far safer in Islamic nations than they were in Christian Europe.

Sid Roth is one of the most well informed Messianic Jews that I know of…. What do you think of his statistic that there may have been as many as 400,000 Messianic Jews living in the Roman province of Judaea at the time of the Bar Kochba Revolt?

    He did not.

Well, accordings to the later Christian sources the Judeo-Christian community of Jerusalem was indeed expelled from the city and maybe even from Israel by Hadrian. Maybe it had backed the uprising.
But it was definitely much smaller than 400 000 members.

No, but several serious historian agree including Shlomo Sands.. some had converted to Christianity long before the advent of Islam. Zionists tend to believe that all the people who had lived there including Arabs, Greeks, Egyptians and Canaanites suddenly vaporized. You remember that asinine claim of a land without people for a people without land.

    Actually…. he kind of did!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar_Kokhba_revolt#Beginnings
"The Jewish sage Rabbi Akiva (alternatively Akiba) indulged the possibility that Simon Bar Kosiba (Bar Kokhba) could be the Jewish messiah, and gave him the surname "Bar Kokhba" meaning "Son of a Star" in the Aramaic language, from the Star Prophecy verse from Numbers 24:17: "There shall come a star out of Jacob".[24] The name Bar Kokhba does not appear in the Talmud but in ecclesiastical sources.[25]

Simon Bar Kokhba took the title Nasi Israel and ruled over a ministate that was virtually independent for two and a half years. The era of the redemption of Israel was announced, contracts were signed and a large quantity of Bar Kochba Revolt coinage was struck over foreign coins."

….. It is also relevant that Rabbi Akiva may have encouraged Simon Bar Kochba that once he had gotten rid of the Romans…. he should cleanse the new Jewish kingdom of those aposTate Messianic Jews….. this may have became common knowledge………. just like in our time period a significant number of Orthodox Rabbis do not want Messianic Jews to be given Israeli citizenship…… If you were a Messianic Jew in the second century…. and if you knew that Simon Bar Kochba was probably going to listen to Rabbi Akiva and kick you out of the country after he defeated Rome…… would you tend to be somewhat conflicted as to whether or not to support the Revolt?

Some Messianic Jews…….think somewhat like I do…. and do not think that Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus advocated absolute pacifism?!

Is King David raised up for the Jewish people decades before Jesus returns?
Is King David raised up for the Jewish people a significant amount of time previous to when the feet of Messiah stand on the Mt. of Olives in fulfillment of Zechariah chapter 14?

It is pretty obvious that Jesus/Yahushua expects us to believe in the specific fulfillment of the words of the prophets.

"Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:" (Luke 24:25)

"But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them." (Jeremiah 30:9)

It is relevant that Jesus/Yahushua clearly identified John the Baptist as a modern Elijah for his time period. Has King David already reincarnated in our time period....or will he certainly do so in the very near future????

Isaiah speaks about a King Cyrus type of person who was instrumental in assisting the Jewish people to rebuild the second temple to which Jesus/Yahushua came. King Cyrus was a gentile or possibly a member of the lost tribes of Israel, and did not actually know the God of Abraham very well at all.
