I would have loved Rick Mercer to have tried to "interview" me, if I had an iPhone to tape it myself. Since he wouldn't have shown a video of him verbally being ripped to pieces on Canadian topics (by an American), I would have "Youtubed" it myself. My wife took me and my kids to Niagara Falls, Canada for my 50th birthday. After they went to sleep I went to the hotel's bar to watch the Mapleleafs get drubbed again. After the game, a Canadian challenged me to stump him on any aspect of U.S. history. I asked him which of our elections were decided in the House of Representatives. The correct answer was 1800 and 1826, the elections involving John Adams and John Quincy Adams, respectively. He said "wasn't it the Roosevelt-Taft election (of 1912)?" I answered "that one was more like your (Canada's) 1993 election where the Republican Party was outpolled by Teddy Roosevelt on the "Bull Moose" ticket, the way the Progressive Conservatives were outpolled by the Reform and the Bloc. He said "I give up, you know more about Canada than I know about the U.S." That would be the kind of "interview" that Mercer would get from me.
If I were taping I wouldn't have let the conversation end. I would have enjoyed (verbally) giving him a trip to the proctologist.
lol! don't flatter yourself. they would have just walked away from you. you wouldn't be a blip on their radar.
Tell that to the guy at the bar at the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, Canada who I debated on either April 6 or 7, 2007.
oh get over yourself sonny. you said yourself he bothered to debate you. a television crew is after footage, they arentb there to waste their time "debating" with some nobody! they would simply walk away and if you tried to get in their face, they'd deck you.
I am hardly a "nobody." And you've gone fast from debate to discussing physical violence. Can you put together an English sentence?
to a comedy television crew youre a nobody if you cant fit what theyre lookin for. they could care less what you know or don't know.
if all Canadians just vanished overnight, it would barely be a blip on the US radar, homeboy. Believe that.
I've met a large number of equally dumb canadians, the average canadian wouldn't pass the exam given to new immigrants to test their knowledge of canada....
This reminds me of an episode of king of the hill where hank is arguing with a Canadian about how unimportant Canada is. The Canadian says "name our prime minister!" Hank just says "why?" Canada sucks. The most famous Canadian is a fictional character. Only good thing to come out of Canada is trailer park boys
The difference between canadians and americans is the average canadian will have a bettet general knowledge of the usa, the average american will not have a very good knowledge of canada...but that isnt such a big deal its just a difference in educational system focus...where it becomes an issue is when elected political officials have no clue, we should all expect our elected officials to be better, it's part of the job requirement...
Leafer, stop being such a drum thumper for Canada. It makes you look foolish. Canada is our kept woman. Get used to it.
I gather you know nothing of the history of the U.S. and Canada as either enemies or allies. - - - Updated - - - I got about an 85% on the test for Canadian citizenship and I am quite American.
That's ironic coming from a citizen of a nation which has mangled the English language into sometimes indecipherable gibberish, and produces 'leaders' like the semi-literate goon, George W. Bush.
