I can't believe this. Pay for a man in prison for murder to have very expensive surgery just to make him comfortable? This is a late april fools? I hope.I got a elderly friend who was put out of the hospital not because he was able but because medicare would not pay anymore. Are the family of the person he killed getting money to make them comfortable? Give him a knife tell him to cut it off if he is tired of it. Would be different if it was say heart surgery not just something to please his heart.

 

It would seem that the argument the judge believed is that it's a medical necessity. So if it is, then wouldn't it make sense that the prisoner should get it?

 

Ummm there are children with worse medical problems that these tax dollars to go too. There are children who dont have food in there belly in which this tax money could go too. Instead they want to waste this on a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing murderer to make his life more comfortable?

Here's where this thing falls apart: It's been jammed down our throats that if a guy merely thinks he's a girl he's a girl. That means he can use the girl's bathroom, girl's locker room, dress like a girl, pick a new name to be referenced by, and so on. Am I right? It's been jammed down our throats!!!! With that in mind, any surgery is merely cosmetic and according to the left, having or not having a dick doesn't make you a man or a woman because it's all in your mind. How does castrating one's self in Texas make transgender surgery a necessity in California? Not to mention this guy has not castrated himself!

I read the article. It would seem that this is the argument the judged was won over by. The point of prison is to rehabilitate people so they don't come back. If they treat you like crap there, what's the incentive to improve yourself on the outside?

First off, we shall start with a basic understanding of how U.S. courts work. Precedence. They rely a lot on precedence. So since this was the outcome here, and this was the precedence established, might as well follow it. Second, modern science says this is the way to treat someone with gender dsyphoria, or at least in her case.

You're right. He's not a doctor. He's someone who got to listen to doctors speak and have their opinions argued both for and against as an independent spectator. At the end, he made his decision based upon the evidence given. That's what a judge does. Don't like it? Appeal courts exist for a reason.

What can she do? She has next to no rights and whatever she did in the past she's paying for it now. But it doesn't mean she doesn't have to suffer needlessly. It defeats the purpose of rehabilitating criminals. If you treat them like criminals, then they know no other life. Treat them like human beings, and they'll see themselves as human beings.

 

What rights does the condemmend have? They're considered pariahs of society. They have next to no rights. Even then, they're still part of society, and we're judged by how we deal with them. You don't have to like it, but the point of prisons is so one day criminals can be rehabilitated and can re-enter society. Can't very well do that if you treat them like criminals the entire time, at one point they have to be treated as humans in order to get somewhere in life.

 

I wonder if his murder victim considers him "helpless?" Or I guess I should say would since they're no longer alive because of him.

On the bright side for him/her, at least he'll/she'll be more popular with the rest of the inmates now.

 

Define medical "necessity". I don't think you know what the words mean...or care what they mean in reality.
