It's interesting to hear what other people think happens to them when they die. Now of course there is the...THAT'S IT FOLK'S! Probability. But I think there might be something more.....nothing as idiotic that most Highly Religious People might think with their MANSION IN THE SKY REWARD....as such a thing makes no sense. If a Human Being has an afterlife.....or a Spirit...it would have no concerns of the flesh. Nothing is for certain but I personally would enjoy exploring the Universe and Multiverse as a collection of Quantum Particle/Wave Forms!! AboveAlpha
Not a big believer in religion, but I love to think that the afterlife is the next great adventure and the next step in an ongoing journey.
So would I....actually so would everyone....but we don't know for certain. There is only one thing I have ever seen that would be considered evidence of spirituality as when remodeling my large home a few workers and myself saw a full torso Female Ghost. I am not prone to such belief but I was it with my own eyes and so did a few other guys. But these could be Psionic Recordings locked within Matter just like a Video Tape uses magnetic tape to record audio and video. But had has me wondering. AboveAlpha
Of course no one really knows what happens with death, but there is no harm in speculation. Of course there are various beliefs, like the orthodox Christian belief that there is a judgment, and their god will open their book of life, peruse it, and then allow them to enter through the pearly gates to walk streets of gold, and live for all of eternity, sitting at the feet of jesus, worshipping him, telling him what a great guy he is, and how much they love him. Now to me, that sounds like a homosexual paradise, but hey, that is just the way it appears to me. But if that book of life is filled with sin, which was unforgiven, then one gets cast into Hell, a place of eternal torture in the hottest fires ever, and you cannot die to get out of it. And all for just being sexual promiscuous, or perhaps stealing a dime from your mom's purse when you were 6. Then there is the eastern belief in reincarnation, where this world we live in is a kind of spiritual school, and once you die, if you have not attained enlightenment, you get a return trip here, with amnesia of course, to do it all over again, until finally your karma zeros out, you become enlightened, and the cycle of birth death ends. So the end of the birth death cycle is some kind of heaven, but perhaps without the streets of gold, and kissing the feet of the master. My own speculation, for I certainly do not know, is that I am in Tom Campbell's camp. I seriously entertain the idea that we live in a virtual reality, created by a super duper Computer, which is Big C Consciousness, which is outside of this subset we call the universe. And in life there is a fragment of Big C Consciousness, within this subset we call reality, the virtual reality, and the virtual brain acts like a transceiver and a reducing valve, for it cannot contain but a tiny fragment of Consciousness, as those are just the rules of the game. So, upon the death of the transceiver, this fragment is absorbed back into Big C Consciousness. But having an image of what that Consciousness is like, is impossible, for the brain cannot create an image of it which can be accurate. But since that Consciousness does not exist in time, it is timeless, which mean in essence our individual consciousness, not ego consciousness, but that background from which ego consciousness springs, is eternal, but the word eternal is an idea of something that happens in time, so, a better word might be endless, infinite, timeless, not subject to time. I have heard it said that some Hindus think that upon the death of the brain, that this is like GOD waking up, as in, the sleeper has awakened. Which fits with what Campbell says, but using different words, to describe it. So, I think that we are all of ONE MIND. We are identical at the deepest level, and individualism is an illusion. So when someone dies, a part of me dies, as well, in one sense. And when one is born, we are all born, in that same sense. I find this much more acceptable than the heaven/hell duality of the Christian religion. I like that line from an old pop song, that goes, " I swear there ain't no heaven, but I pray there ain't no Hell" LOL. Yet I cannot in my wildest imagination ever entertain the idea that the Creator of this vast beautiful universe would ever create a place of eternal torment for his creation, who didn't obey his rules. Such a thing could never be considered to be some kind of god. That sounds more like some kind of human, than a god, to create a place of torture, while exclaiming that he is LOVE. LOL. Sounds like a schizo to me.
Problem is any Computational Device as you describe doing what you describe would have to be equal to all the Matter, Dark Matter and Dark Energy in a Universe. Basically it would be Universal Sized. AboveAlpha
LOL!!! Ever notice people who go through Hypnotic Regression always claim in a past life they were someone very important like Julius Ceasar, Cleopatra...etc. No one ever say's...."In a part life I used to shovel S#!#!" LOL!!! AboveAlpha
I was a farmer in a past life according to a FB quiz I took, so it probably involved shoveling manure.
Sure. The thing is, is that death is for certain. S'okay. Maybe its reunion with unknown friends, or maybe its just nothing. The one thing we can all be pretty sure of is that its the end of this. Make friends with it because no matter who you may be thats where it all ends...
Lao funeral and cremation. Check out about 2:19 when they shoot rockets into the funeral pyre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-RVNmg_Trc That's how I want to go, out with a bang. I've witnessed a few of these first hand. Not a lot of grieving, Lao will grieve in private but more of an occasion celebrating the diseased life not his/her death.
Oh...I have made friends with it. I was Clinically Dead for a time after recieving two doses of Synth-Morph after being shot 3 times at close range. I would have been dead if it were not for the High Tech Body Armor I was wearing as we can't wear plated body armor and move fast so this was designed to CATCH a round like a Chinese Finger Puzzel. There was some balistic penetration but I took a half dose of Synth-Morph and got my Team out of there. 16 HOURS OF HELL!! I got us to the extraction point and collapsed. They gave me two doses for PAIN I cannot fully understand a way to describe to you. My Heart and Lungs stopped working. I was CLINICALLY DEAD...but they brought me back. Now the only people who become actually DEAD...DEAD...are people who fall through the ice and their heart, lungs and brain wave activity stops. But if we do it right we can bring them back by slowly heating the body and shocking them back to life as the Human Brain reboots if it is kept cold. Those people were actually DEAD. AboveAlpha
That is from the movie "Bull Durham" spoken by Crash Davis played by Kevin Costner to Annie played by Susan Sarandon.
Because there is no Logic to it. If there is a GOD who has an overall in action plan....then those people who were born Sociopaths or Criminals...are aprt of that plan. Thus they had no real Free Will. You can't have an Overall GOD's Plan and have FREEWILL at the same time. AboveAlpha
People die all the time though. Eventually it happens to all of us despite anything modern medicine can do. If you died and came back great, but eventually you will not come back. All the way dead is just what happens after a long enough time. I think it is very sad when young people die who have not had the chance to really live. If we can bring them back great... It just isn't real though. One thing I have learned though is that if I can relax in just the right way I can feel the lives of the people who have died flow through me. They are not dead because they effect the way I think and act. What I am is part of who they were and what I do is part of their will. It doesn't really matter what I or you may think though.
Although nothing in the universe can do anything outside of God's will, people are essentially responsible for their own actions. God created the options, and humans acted accordingly. No one forced them to do anything.
What happens after you die? You first have to understand consciousness. If you ask the question as if you believe in a timeline that runs forward and backward and you exist somewhere in between in there, then you are fabricating a conceptualization, which is worth it's weight in gold. If on the other had, you realize the simple recognition of being...no words can express that true description.
