White Flight

Whites move away when blacks move in.
There isn't an organized effort to keep blacks out. White flight created suburbia. White flight is still very much alive.

 

The Democratic Party wants racial segregation and always has from its origins. White people would be absolutely wise to stay out of poor black communities for personal safety reasons.

 

This is the reason nearly all inner cities are Democratic now, often with solid Republican suburbs. For example, Dallas and then Dallas County became Democratic just over a decade ago. But it is surrounded by Republican majority cities and counties. This is typical.

If you look at an election map of the USA, 95% of the land has a population that votes a majority Republican. Democrats majorities are in dense urban areas generally.

 

Jews left the Bronx at a higher rate than White Christians did.

While at one time 1 in 2 Whites in the Bronx were Jewish back in the 1940's, now about 1 in 3.5 Whites in the Bronx are Jewish.

 

Actually, whites move out when schools turn bad, crime heightens and you look out the window and notice on a regular basis 4 to five black teens walking down your street with their pants hanging at the knees exposing butt and underwear and decked out in gold chains.

Yep, we moved. It was a decision made in the best interests of our family.

Jewish Americans probably have s significantly higher income on average than whites.

 

True but for good reasons.

Take my city for instance, we have so few blacks one can go days and days and never see any.

But we have pockets of blacks.

What pockets? Pockets where they are able to rent a house or apartment paid for by section 8

Thus it is government, not the natural flow that drives blacks here from a much more violent Oakland, Ca. Actually my city is not the best for them given a city called Hayward, CA is much closer to Oakland. Blacks in Fremont that I have spoken to tell me that they maintain a close tie to Oakland. Check up on Oakland. I lived there as a child in the very early 40s and until WW2, you did not see blacks. It was that hard to spot a black though I don't believe none lived there.

I went to high school in Hayward and the black children sure seemed to me to be in fine working class families.

San Leandro, CA borders Oakland. I recall when San Leandro in federal reports counted portuguese as minority. This the city beleived put them in the clear.

I sold a home in San Leandro in 1973 and took offers from all agents with all clients, color not the issue with me.

A black agent from Oakland brought the winning bid. Two white agents were crapping themselves and trying to talk the owner out of the deal without showing it was race. But the black had the most cash so won. I was told that deal and others doomed San Leandro and whites fled that city.

And it's a shame...we moved to a lesser house, paying more money per month. But our kids weren't being beat up so it was worth it.

 

Yes, and Jewish Americans are also significantly more Liberal on average than Whites.

Pockets of blacks usually stay in the black pockets.
Whites move because they are cognizant of the changes related to race changes.
White countis in metro Atlanta fiercely oppose public transit outside of Fulton county...lol...residential development criteria...

 

Libertarians tend to be social liberals and fiscal/government conservatives...I imagine Jews to be similar.

 

Not really, a lot of Jews are devout Democrat supporters, and have been since FDR's programs.

 

Property values are higher in white communities. You get less bang for your buck.
Good school districts impact real estate big time.

Southside...Grew up in Clayton County, graduated in Fayette, currently reside in Coweta.
My kids go to a public high school and middle school with a 75-80% white student population.
Clayton County shifted from almost all white in 84-85 to almost all black by 1995.

 

That looks like a fairly rural area to me.I have a cousin about an hour north of ya.

 

I did not care. But I was told AFTER the sale that the agents living in San Leandro were determined not to have the city go black. We at the time had a law in CA that outlawed our efforts to do that. I simply refused to go along. The owner was a probation officer and she also refused to go along. She and her new husband moved to a home a few miles off where that pig Rachel Maddow came from. Last time I saw them, both were retired living on 40 acres in the valley.

 

White flight really got going in the mid to late 1960's. There were many reasons for that. In some cases it was that some Whites did not want their kids going to school with Black kids. The urban riots of the 1960,
s " proved" to Whites that Blacks were " dangerous" . After all they looted, they burned down buildings and burned and overturned cars including police cars.

The suburbs were not really built because of White flight at least not in the beginning. The suburbs were initially built up in the Kate 40, s and into the 50, s when the returning WWII GI,s had the GI bill which included government guaranteed mortgages and the returning GI,s wanted a nice open green place with a new house to raise their families in. There was a shortage of housing in the cities since nothing got built during the war and there were not many single family hones.

In the case of my family since we were immigrants and post WWII refugees we eventually moved to the burbs as part of reaching for the American Dream. We went from renting old run down apartments in not so good city neighborhood to a better rental to owning a house in the city to having a new house built in the suburbs. In a way we also were part of White flight not the vanguard but in the middle of the flight.

Both my wife and I as kids grew up in the city. Her family since her Dad was born here and a WWII vet they left a few years before my family did.

My parents were indeed afraid of violence, rioting, and crime that they saw on TV being done bybBlacks. That was a major part of why they " escaped". My folks who survived attacks and invasion by Nazi Germans and Communist Russians did not want to be killed by rampaging Blacks in the city after all they came through. Hiw coulid I convince them otherwise.

The way my folks saw it the Blacks forced them out of the city. The Blacks won. But what did Blacks win? They won a decaying partially burned out city with high taxes and poor schools and crime and housing shortages with maybe one supermarket. My dad said too bad they did it go themselves when they looted and burned out the few city supermarkets fitting after MLK was assassinated.

The way my parents looked at wad " you keep the city and the war you created we want no part of your war we already lived through our war just barely".

 

Actually, when a new racial group takes over a desirable neighborhood, sometimes house prices go up for awhile, due to demand. It is long term residence by people that cannot afford to keep homes in good repair that tends to lower home value, where other factors such as crime are not a factor.
