    Ms. McIver doesn't share your definition. At least she had the gumption to step up and take responsibility for this plagarism. I hope this will put the matter to rest, although I am uncomfortable with how it was handled by the campaign - shameful really.I'm also thinking it is high time for the Trump campaign to hire professional speech writers for the campaign, assuming he ever wants to make policy speeches and other important addresses.....instead of the usual blustering buffoonery we normally get when he doesn't want to use a teleprompter, LOL,

    Yep, read it. Meaningless. The words and phrases are "everyday use", they are in the public domain and owned by no one and used by everyone.

    That is silly! When one expresses that "cliche" by "borrowing 22 out of 26 words from another person. . .that is stealing. Couldn't Trump's campaign come up with their own words to describe that "cliche?" Michelle did. . .in 2008!

    It would be very interesting to know what the GOP reaction to that Michelle Obama speech was in 2008. . .as compare to their reaction to the plagiarised speech by Melania!

    Still copied though from someone (Hilary) that she liked :)

    Words and phrases like "your word is your bond" are used all over the world,

    However, no one has been saying that Michelle is the first person to have used those phrases. But she is the first one to have used ALL the words "because we want our children,.. this nation to know.... the only limits your achievements is the your willingness to work for them." in one sentence. Melania was the second.

    ANY university would consider this plagiarism and would severely tarnish the reputation and the credit given to any student who would do this.

    You may not like it. . .but facts are facts.

    “In working with Melania on her recent first lady speech, we discussed many people who inspired her and messages she wanted to share with the American people,” Ms. McIver wrote.

    “A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama,” she added.

    “Over the phone,” Ms. Trump “read me some passages from Mrs. Obama’s speech as examples. I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech. I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches. This was my mistake and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant.”

    This attack on Trump's wife helps him immensely. It reveals Trump's alienation from the political class, the RP/DP/MSM.

    One more time, Ms. McIver apologized for plagiarizing parts of Ms. Obama's speech. I don't think people apologize for using clichés however in this instance one cliché comes to mind - "stubborn as a mule". If you don't recognize what happened as plagiarizing, that is your problem however you don't get to substitute your opinion for a fact.
    I've linked a site listing all clichés - nowhere in it did I find sentences or phrases from Ms. Obama's speech. Site below - have fun.

    Good news is Melania openly admitted she likes Michelle Obama. That's a good step in the right direction for Trump! They should try to copy the Obama's more.
