Do you still support this proclamation, or should the plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty that displays these words, be removed? - Statue of Liberty
So YOU support returning to what that meant when written: 1. Only White people are admitted 2. Summary decisions without hearing denying admission 3. Medical exam before admission 4. No social programs of any kind not only for immigrants but any Americans 5. No minimum wage, no child labor laws, no job benefits 6. Immigrants and any American could starve to death without a penny of help from the government 7. Racial and gender discrimination 100% legal. So my answer is no, that does NOT represent the USA anymore nor should it. Now you answer. Do you WANT to return to when 1 thru 7 was the USA's policy towards immigrants as when those words were written? Or do you oppose the USA becoming what it was for those words to be possible? I do understand many liberals want to erase actual history. The plaque stays as it was accurate - to those terms - at the time. Another plaque should be put up explaining #1 thru #7 is how the language of that plaque was actually applied.
You are obfuscating. This is about a core principle. Do you support it or not? It is a simple question. Yes or no. I take it your answer is that it should be taken down. Did you cast a false vote?
We have never intended to have uncontrolled borders [not in terms of the Constitution]. So your answer is keep the plaque? Did you vote? What does "my masses" mean? That could be taken many ways. For example, only white people? Amending the plaque is not an option. If it is too broad in scope then your vote is remove the plaque.
The statue of Liberty has been banned in Trumps America. Sent back to Europe with a giant sign around her neck. "FAKE NEWS"
There are already gestures of non acceptance of 7 countries, for fear was mounting before anxious that the people coming from those banned states will never respect American way of life and of course will never obey the law of the land. They have their own sharia law and would never adhere with the regulations imposed by Lady Liberty.
Granny says, "Dat's right - give me yer tired, yer poor... ... yer restless yearnin' to be free... ... but don't be sendin' any dem jihadis over here.
Those words are not now and never where then the policy of immigration of the nation. Those words were from a poem by Emma Lazarus which was more of a wish, a dream, a fantasy of what she thought the Statue of Liberty represents.

Not removed just modified... "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! But please don't give me your Islamic terrorists, yearning to blow up my citizens or fly planes into my tall buildings, 'cuz Lady Liberty does not appreciate that."
No, it is about actual reality to me. It is about a fantasy past you make to support your anti-American ideology to you. Answer my question. I answered yours and your poll. Do you want the USA to now have the policies and treatment of immigrants when that plaque was put on the Statute of Liberty. Yes or no?
She also was a Zionist. Most of the left and the Democratic Party HATES Zionists. The plaque does represent the policy of Israel in relation to Jews being oppressed around the world. The Democratic Party for the most part hates that too.
I've heard it is a good show as well. It just isn't really my cup of tea. I tend not to watch a lot of serial TV anyway. I still watch Blue Bloods because I used to go by and watch it frequently with my dad before he died, I watched the whole season of Shooter, and beyond that I just generally don't. I will sometimes binge on a whole season of something like Dr. Who on a rainy weekend but not often.
Of course it should not be taken down, are you lost? I don't see anything on there about allowing terrorists, so it's still pretty accurate where do we get these people that create threads like this
So you want to remove the context involved? The core principle had context. If you ignore the context, you misunderstand how we did immigration with lady liberty standing there. Isn't this just a bit intellectually dishonest here? Our currency has on it, In God We Trust. You trust in God? Are the words on our currency a core principle? At one time in our history, we needed human beings to come here, to settle this huge wilderness. We also needed immigrants to man our factories with the industrial revolution. We were looking out for the best interests of America. But at some point in time we no longer needed immigrants and we started to put into place controls, for this is what intelligence demands. And I will tell you what intelligence does not demand. Intelligence does not demand that we open our borders, take in the world's poor and put them on welfare financed by working people. We do not owe the poor of the world a free lunch. We owe them nothing. At one time when we needed them to work, we opened our doors and told them to come here and take a chance in making their lives better, by their work, not our welfare. And many did. But it required 100 percent of their own effort. And that is the core principle you seem to not know, or ignore.
The statute is an historic statute like a Confederate generals statute. The praising of the Statute of Liberty is a white-people thing. In the context of when the plaque was put in place? Well, if you're black it should just read: "WHITES ONLY!" If Native American: "We white people just finished killing and interning all the Indians." It also is naive as WHITE immigrants were not welcomed out of compassion. The country wanted the cheapest laborers possible to have manpower - but having to pay no less than if everyone in the family worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and did not get hurt or sick they will get enough money not to starve to death and have a crummy place to rent. The country had no reason not to allow unlimited numbers of WHITE people because they cost nothing - there were NO social programs, no welfare, no food stamps, No social security. No free medical care. Mass number of immigrants also made it possible to have an available military force if necessary only have to offer food, housing and otherwise essential no pay. Virtually all employment was sweatshop, child labor or intense labor outdoors or underground with absolute bare minimum pay since for every job there were waves of people who needed it. It was not soon for both social reasons and demands of labor unions, the brakes was put on immigration - putting in place maximum allowed from each region and country. Considerations included ethnicity and religion. The claim by WHITE Democrats of what the Statute of Liberty stood for and bragging how great the country was for immigrants then is, put bluntly, a lie based upon relying upon the failure of the educational system for which people would understand the history behind it and the realities including for immigrants at that time.
