    Epic.

Though it is customary for heads of state to address the British Parliament, apprently Trump will not be doing so.

He has been barred from speaking.

Perhaps it was his embrace of right wing British politicians that border on overt racism. Perhaps it was his misogynistic comments bragging about sexual assault. Perhaps it was the plethora of other reasons he has amply provided. However, it appears some folks are not too pleased with him, refusing to sully mantelshelves by allowing him to speak.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/john-bercow-cancels-donald-trump-parliament-visit-2017-2

As speaker of the House of Commons, however, Bercow is one of three people who has the authority to block visiting figures from doing this.

The speaker said on Monday afternoon that addressing Parliament was an "earned honour" and not an invitation that came automatically with a state visit.

    He said:

"What I will say is this. An address by a foreign leader to both Houses of Parliament is not an automatic right. It is an earned honour. Moreover, there are many precedents for state visits to take place to our country which do not include an address to both Houses of Parliament. That's the first point.

"In relation to Westminster Hall, there are three key holders to Westminster Hall: the speaker of the House of Commons, the speaker of the House of Lords and the lord great chamberlain. Ordinarily we are able to work by consensus and the hall would be used for a purpose such as an address or another purpose by agreement of the three key holders.

"I must say to the honourable gentleman, to all who signed his early day motion and to others with strong views about this matter on either side of the argument, that before the imposition of the migrant ban I would myself have been strongly opposed to an address by President Trump in Westminster Hall. After the imposition of the migrant ban by President Trump I am even more strongly opposed to an address by President Trump in Westminster Hall.

"And I concluded by saying to the honourable gentleman this. We value our relationship with the United States. If a state visit takes place, that is way beyond and above the pay grade of the speaker.

"However, as far as this place [the House of Commons] is concerned, I feel very strongly that our opposition to racism and to sexism and our support for equality before the law and an independent judiciary are hugely important considerations in the House of Commons."

Good to know the temper tantrums and stopping of feet is not limited to just this side of the pond.

The British will do what they need to do but I'm thinking they don't really want to listen to a windbag get up in front of them just to tell them how great he is, how he "won big", how he gets huge ratings and crowds, how the media is the opposition and they issue nothing but fake news & polls, how he's going to Make Great Britain Great Again....etc. etc.

Speaking of speeches, I'm looking forward to his address to Congress on Feb 28. Hopefully by then he has much better speech writers and spends some quality practice time with his old friend "teleprompty". If not, it will just be a repeat of the nonsense we've been getting - I just got through watching his comments to the troops in FL, it was painful. It was like a 14 year old giving a speech written by a 12 year old using a thesaurus for dummies.....brutal.

    Trump is such an embarrassment.

Just put Great Britain on the ever longer list of our former allies who are either disgusted with or laughing at us. Deplorable!

Great Britain is a fake country anyway, right? I mean, what's so great about Britain? Bad food, bad weather, and it's so close to those smelly French. SAD!

You think the UK wants to break it's alliance with us over Trump? You're really being serious here?

What the arrogant fools across the pond fail to understand, is that England without the US support will lose geopolitical positioning. Starting with the Falkland Islands.... Making enemies with the Head of State of the most powerful nation on earth has never been a smart move.

This is a deeply offensive, stupid, short-sighted thing that Bercow has done. It will have detrimental repercussions in relations between the United States and Great Britain for years to come. And the simple, unvarnished truth is that Britain needs the United States a great deal more than the U. S. needs Britain....

Why would a civilized country care to hear the Big Cheeto maunder on about this, that and the other? Also, England is on the reality side of things, not the alt-reality side. You know, like the rest of the world.

What you would have correctly said was that even our greatest allies are rejecting your little tyrant.

Here is where you make your first mistake

And your second mistake is giving a good (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) what the Parliament thinks, does or suggests about the U.S.. The brits only love for the U.S. begin and ends with what the Brits can get from the U.S. just like the rest of the world sucking us dry!

There are many Trump voters who are horrified by such a view, and rightly so. But who needs 'em, right?

This false narrative will be proven false when, after Trump's bullying is over and his uneducated policies are put in place (assuming he finally figures out how to do it without violating our own law), we see the price of goods skyrocket in this country. The "good news" is that more Americans will be working and making more money, but it won't matter because everything we want to buy will be so ******ned expensive. So in effect, we'll all be worse off, but Trump will claim success because jobs were what he promised, even if it's at the expense of a bunch of consequences he failed to mention.

Well, then its final. We have NO CHOICE but to make our deals and alliances with Russia being rejected by the Europeans.

Time to shut down our NATO bases and bring our people home.

The British Parliament has my appreciation.

Europe really loves self destruction! Bringing in millions and millions of Islamic zealots. DEMANDING to not have a relationship with the USA.

They are doing their part to end the USA being part of globalism! Thanks! This is an example of someone (Europe) saying "I QUIT" because they know the boss (Trump) is getting read to fire him.

Less than a week ago the left was whining about Trump harming an alliance with Australia, now they're gleeful when a country does it to us. The Brits need us more than we need them.

    LMAO!! The trumpists templated response:

Good. Means trump is doing exactly what we want him to do. Screw the {country}. Lazy bums need to get off thier asses and start doing work.

I have news for you, rebukes from foreign governments does not necessarily mean he's doing what we want him to do. Especially when the rebukes are coming from close allies and trading partners. God help us, the idiot can't even get along with our staunchest friends.
